Shooter Says
He’s a natural leader, you can hear it in his interviews. I’d love to get him. thanat0s, Lionzblade, KCFalcon22 and 8 others 8

SwampyMux12
Yeah man, if we could use him like Dallas uses Parsons, he could be a really good pick. He didn't have the sack numbers Parsons had in college, and Parsons is about 10 pounds heavier, but the athleticism is elite level stuff. g-dawg
If the Falcons take Nolan Smith at #8 - it will be a Vic Beasley type mistake - better overall player but isn’t a passrusher. He won’t be a double digit sack guy and he is too short and light to play DE. He’s a 3-4 OLB type. Aluminafalcon
Love the enthusiasm, love the athleticism. If we were to pick him we better have a plan how to use him due to his tweener build. I would prefer a trade down to 12 or so if that’s the plan but if he is neilsan guy he is neilsan guy. Of the falcon moves we could pull this offseason I put this right below drafting bijan but way ahead of us drafting Carter or obtaining Lamar Edited March 16 by Aluminafalcon Lionzblade
Herr Doktor
He's a warrior. You have to like that. Doubt we pull the trigger at 8 though. FalconJim, ItsJustMe, Falcster and 2 others
ItsJustMe
Anderson, Carter, Gonzalez at #8 whoever is there. Nolan would be nice in the second but I highly doubt he would still be there. If he fell late in the 1sr round is a move up possible? thanat0s and Mid-Nite-Toker
thanat0s
He is everything you'd want in a pro player, both mentally and physically. He's never going to take a play off, or not be engaged in the program you're building. He's also a great 'face of the franchise' type guy. I've said before, my only real concern is, he wasn't wildly productive in college on the field. He would make key plays, for sure, but he never blew up the stat sheet. Now, part of that is UGA scheme. We've always been more about overwhelming opponents along the DL and letting our inside backers run and hit. We don't do a lot of wholesale blitzing that would show off his pass rush ability. In the end, you aren't going to get a bust with Nolan, imo. He'll be in the league playing solid for years. I'm not sure people would embrace a long term, solid player at 8 rather than 'swinging for the fences' for a star at that spot. But, if you want him, you're probably going to have to just take him at 8, because I doubt he gets anywhere near us in round 2. We've certainly done it plenty in the past, and I'm all for bundling our picks and getting a few guys I like this year rather than bringing in a ton of raw rookies again. I just don't like this draft much at all beyond the first 50 guys anyway. Sponge, ItsJustMe and Lionzblade

PriMeTiiMe
We have enough small pass rushers. Just drafted 2 of them last year on Day 2. We need a Cam Jordan style DE which Nolan Smith is obviously not. They're all amazing players, and an amazing defense, but yet *no one* is really all that productive, number wise. Granted, it's hard to be when you don't have to play a lot lol. This isnt to overrate Nolans pass rush. It's definitely not currently his strongest attribute. I just see it a lot from "numbers" people. Jordan Davis didn't have stats. Jalen Carter doesn't have stats. Trayvon didn't have stats. Nolan doesn't have stats. The LBs last year all split their stats. kiwifalcon and thanat0s

Looking at their testing numbers and measurements they're actually pretty similar. Only major difference is Parsons is obviously a little bigger and has much bigger hands but actually smaller arm length. I wouldn't want Smith at #8 but the potential would get me on board pretty quick. Liked the idea a lot more a month ago when he was there more often than not in the 2nd round ha SwampyMux12 and Lionzblade
