Bad sign, the guy is lazy, looking for a payday, he want last in the NFL unless he change, he's doing all the wrong things that raise red flags for people that are about to commit a lot of money.

I draft him after #20, wouldn't touch him with the 8th pick.

So you know all of that from this article? I guess Kirby Smart doesn’t know what he’s talking about then 🤷🏾🙄. The kid is going through ****.. if he really feels like he was part of the reason his teammate and the young lady were killed then I could see him being depressed and gaining weight.

People look at the fact that he may or not have been racing when the accident occurred but no one is talking about how it could affect him mentally and emotionally. Forget the draft for a second, is anyone making sure the kid is in a good head space? Does he have the right type of support?

I agree he’s not dealing with his situation the best way but is anyone asking why? I’m glad Smart spoke up for him.. he’d know Carter’s character better than any of us but I could see him dropping due to all of this. The question is will his underwhelming pro day scare the Falcons off if he’s there at #8?

How many red flags do we need until UGA fans don't want him at 8? I believe he's off Falcons board to begin with so not worried about him being a Falcon.

If dude went to Michigan State there wouldn’t even be a thread. How many folks remember Malik McDowell?
Exactly- not many at all,  but if he went to UGA we would though. He was every bit the DT prospect that Carter is and fell to round 2 due to red flags.

I've been on this board since Michael Vick - you've been around long enough to know me that I don't evaluate UGA players any differently than any others - I am as criticial of UGA players as anyone and would just as soon take an Auburn, LSU, Bama or even a **** Gator over a UGA player if I thought it was the right move -  getting tired of these type of comments because of my screen name.

Moving on,  I'm not looking over today's poor performance nor the car racing issues - there's enough smoke to - at the very least - say Jalen Carter has some maturity issues.    Sometimes red flags pan out to lead to bigger issues and sustained disappointment - and sometimes they don't and kids grow up.      It's fair to be critical of Jalen Carter now and almost everyone is - clearly.

I just don't think from following him that there is no good side to him - I know there is and he's a popular player with the team.      Just hope our guys - Fontenot. Smith and front office - do a deep dive on the kid and keep up w/ him between now and closing.

There will likely be many a private workout, meetings, etc - between Jalen Carter and several NFL teams - heck even more teams are going to do their due diligence on him now that many think he will tumble down the draft board.

Some team is going to get this great talent - and he may come through this as a more mature and grown up person - everyone has their turning point.    If this isn't it for Jalen - then I would concede he's in trouble - I just don't believe he's gonna flop in the NFL nor in life.   Time will tell.

Been on these boards since Vick too, and it doesn't meant ****.

Sorry if you don't like an opinion that's different than yours. That's life. Get over it, or don't. Idgaf

I think people are arguing about whether or not his performance, or lack there of, at his pro day will knock him out of the first round.  Arthur Smith was there to watch it.  So it's somewhat Falcons related.  Also, maybe we grab him in the second round?

Man, when you say that I get Rasheed Hageman vibes... All the talent in the world to be an absolute dominant force, but didn't have the attitude or work ethic to get there.

Lol he had a big lunch and they weighed him before he went potty afterwards.

If you have ever weighed yourself before and then after a big drop off you would know it doesn’t change the scale…..so I’m told. 😐

LOL. I don't think his troubles have anything to do with anybody but himself.

other than his racing what other character concerns stories are true. all his teammates and coaches said he is a good worker and good teammate. he played injured when he didn’t have too

"Other than his racing...." He was caught twice within a few weeks going double the speed limit. Was also quite likely drinking, also left the scene of the accident.

If you can gloss over that kind of behavior in the weeks preceding the biggest event of his life, then nothing anybody can say will make you face up to the reality he's not mature or stable enough to be ready for prime time.

Cool.   Your insinuation that I favor UGA players was wrong.   If you don’t want to hear it, well….you just did - and you will again if you say it again.

He's a grown man that's not where he should be according to pro expectations and should fall in the draft.

His body is grown

He’s 21yrs old - what percentage of 21yr olds do you believe are truly grown and don’t make bone-headed decisions?

I really don't care if you get in your feelings about being called a homer. That's not my problem and you can respond as much as you want.

Or it could just be that he no longer has Kirby holding him accountable.  Happened to a lot of players under Saban as well.  They usually don't work out to well in the nfl

@abcranford2 A fair different angle of the situation.

There’s a certain segment of the TATF population- and society as a whole - that like to kick people when they are down.

JC88 is down now, and people are getting in their rabbit punches.
