The worst mock ever!!! CBS's Chris Trapasso's NFL Mock Draft: Falcons select

After a messy negotiation, the Ravens do right by Jackson and get him the first receiver off the board in this class.

That's all. No mention of any trade.  Nothing. Ravens got Falcons 8th overall  pick for no reason and absolutely no explanation because they keep Lamar Jackson in his mock.

Looks like they've already edited it because it shows us picking Nolan Smith at 8 now.

If Carter and Andersen get to 6 or 7 man you’d be seriously picking up the phone and enquiring I mean seriously both spots I think we need to add more juice there.

Absolutely.

I'm going to be very surprised if Arizona doesn't pick Anderson - he's the best player at a position of need.

Houston and Indy are both drafting a QB.

That leaves Seattle, Detroit, and Vegas. All three have a QB who started most of last season (though Vegas' started somewhere else). All three have needs on D.

Do they take Edge #2, DT #1, CB #1 or wildcard (e.g., Bijan Robinson or WR #1)?

Does Chicago try to trade back up to get Carter or do they draft Bijan or CB #2 or #3? Does Washington feel confident they can stay put and get QB #4?

It doesn't make sense for Atlanta to trade up for anyone other than Anderson or Carter (and I've explained before why I don't think it's possible to trade up for Anderson).

Detroit has two 2nd round picks (48 & 55) and two 1st round picks (6 & 18) and a 3rd (81). Could they be persuaded for a simple swap? Atlanta trades #8, #44, and #75 for Detroit's #6, #55, and #81? The Lions would then have four of the top 48 picks and five of the top 75.

CBS is really slipping over the last couple years. I sort of like their big boards, but their analysts, media commentators etc are really getting unreadable like ESPN.

Nevermind CBS Hash let Carter and or Andersen slip in the front door at the Branch.Whoever has our card sprint to the podium for one of those guys.

Very feasible this one and if that got Carter in the door I’d do it.

I’m wondering what is the real deal behind the scenes with the law & Carter??

Could be everybody knows behind the scenes but I haven’t heard one more word about it.
Otherwise go for it!

Leave CBS Sports alone they HATE THE FALCONS.

Look how they graded the three quarterback signings in our division:

Taylor Heinicke heads to Falcons

Former Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is leaving the D.C. area and heading down to Atlanta to join the Falcons. The veteran has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $20 million. The Falcons were in the market for another quarterback after releasing Marcus Mariota and having just Desmond Ridder and Logan Woodside on the roster, and Heinicke does give you a quality backup that can start in a pinch. The Old Dominion product should be a valuable mentor to Ridder if that's truly the route the Falcons go down for 2023.

Grade: C+

Jameis Winston stays with Saints

Jameis Winston has reportedly decided to remain with the Saints as the two are finalizing a new deal. This is a great move for both sides. The Saints have a known commodity backing up new starting quarterback Derek Carr. Winston gets to stay in New Orleans instead of trying to latch on somewhere else.

Grade: A

Andy Dalton joins Carolina

The former three-time Pro Bowler has come to terms on a two-year deal with the Panthers. This is a great move for both sides. The Panthers are getting a highly experienced quarterback who put up decent stats for the Saints last season. Carolina also gets a veteran who can serve as a mentor for whoever the team decides to take with the No. 1 overall pick.

I would love that. Detroit still gets one of the best corners, and we get a shot at Carter or Wilson. They move up significantly in day 2 and we get our target.
