Taylor Hienecki signing a giant reality check

Recommended Posts

I'm totally against signing LJ, but to think he's not a winner or couldn't win here in the Atl because he's a running QB with terrible accuracy issues is totally asinine. He's been a league MVP and had completion percentages of 66% 64% 64% in three of his 5 seasons. Plus he won games with his legs extending plays over and over. The dude can ball.

I'm not about breaking the bank and giving up draft capital to acquire him, but let's not throw rocks now that this regime has moved on from him. He's a top 10 QB and will automatically win a team 10 games per yr doing his thing.

Once again, I said TF and AS were too smart to moratge the future as they almost did with D Watson. Lesson learned.

Lamar is a very very special player who can win a SB in the future. But let's not fool ourselves and act like he's a loser or just a flat out terrible passer.

Anybody with half a brain that read between the lines of all the TF/AS press conferences knew what we were trying to accomplish, no way were we going to mortgage the future to bring him in. For the first time in a long time we’re actually building this team correctly and I’m just sitting back and enjoying the show. Let’s make some noise this season 🥃

Is the repeated mispelling on purpose? And if so.....what does it mean.......

It means many are still going to avoid reality by pointing out the spelling instead of the substance. It allows some to continue denying what happened.

So carry on spellcheckers, just know it’s clear by this move Ridder is our projected starting QB in 2023.

Last season, his most recent, was statistically on par with mariotta.  Now do I think that is his base level?  No.  But …

Not a reality check for me.
He only played 9 games this season but in 2021 he had more yards and more touchdowns than Lamar. Even if you include Jackson’s rushing. Not saying he is the GOAT, but he’s as good as he needs to be and I’m over the moon that we can move on from Lamar threads. Because he’s also not the GOAT.

LJ contract hold up is the risk of injury.
Once again, I didn't want him here for the price it would take, however, imagine MBS with Larmar running around making plays with not an empty seat and the Falcons winning games. Like old days in the dome, but so happy we passed. You know Blank had to refrain himself from offering TF AS an ultramatum.😙

Or you spelled his name wrong repeatedly.

We still need to see what happens in the draft, but I like Ridder as a guy who can compete in camp, and come away successfully as our starter.  This is part 1 of what I was hoping to see as our QB plan.  Next, another mid rounder like Hooker or Max Duggan.

EDIT: Good lord, I need to get back to posting again. Member since like 2000, and I have rookie status!

He so excited to be “the guy” to tell others not to want a better QB that he forgot to spell check.

Regardless of if it was Lamar (who I don’t want) or someone else. Fans have to right to want better at the QB position. It’s just called being a fan. You don’t have to agree, just like we won’t agree that Mediocre Taylor makes us any better.

Heineki got a 2 year contract - which is a standard Backup QB contract. So there is no doubt Ridder is the projected starter. If it occurs that Heineki somehow wins the job (either by injury or performance) then obviously that 2 year contract will turn into a 5 year Starting QB contract.

Which will further sink this team in to despair
