He is a guy that can run the system and if Ridder bombs we will be just fine with him as a QB manager with our running system. Great competition for the #1 QB this camp. Been a great first/second day for the front office. Been thinking the same thing the whole time on this. This was an awesome signing PokerSteve and mjqvi

We better not fumble cause i know TF & AS aren’t banking their futures on Ridder long term I hope Ridder is All Pro and we draft #32 next year and QB is clearly NOT a need at that point. RYNE
3 minutes ago, falconidae said: Here's another way to look at it though. Whatever the Falcons end up doing at QB, they needed Heinicke If Ridder can't beat Heinicke out in TC, that's really valuable information for the future. The Falcons can still draft a a QB at 8, although I doubt they will. You would still need the veteran back up that he provides. Most likely scenario is that Ridder wins the job in TC and Heinicke remains a solid backup who can be a really good mentor for him. It's the role Mariota would have had had he not bailed on the team [ at a much lower price tag.] My point is we have actual holes at multiple position. Fill a hole with that money. Don’t pay a backup qb. Get a cheap dude. Could have had mike white cheap: I’d of rather done that. We could have took that money and got a good LG. Go get Shaq mason and pay him with that. That’s one less hole. Go grab a pass rusher. idk it’s whatever. For me, you don’t have to agree it just a waste. coastiemike, Freddies 3rd Cuz and Lionzblade

Pretty much Ridder or die for 2023. What makes you think that ? Ridder is a bottom 5 starting QB in the NFL right now … it should be us , Washington , & Titans as worst teams next year .. not including teams who will most likely draft a QB this year (Colts, Texans, Panthers) Geneaut and Lionzblade

Caleb Williams will more than likely go #1. Falcons are going to have to win only 2 or 3 games. I highly doubt that happens. ATL Fan in the DMV
I live in the DMV area, so I know quite a bit about Taylor. He has key limitations, but my goodness is he beloved over here. I mean, really beloved and respected. He was never a world-beater, but he's not someone you put out there knowing you likely have no chance to win anyway like you would with other backups (Darnold, et al). He's a great pickup that I hope - with all due respect - never sees the field as Ridder hopefully stays healthy and balls the **** out! chronob
I love this signing. Heinicke is better than your typical back-up, and this should tell us what we have in Ridder. If Ridder beats out Heinicke in camp then we know he's starter material. If he doesn't then we know what Ridder's current ceiling is, and at least we have a capable, veteran QB that's an upgrade over Mariotta for the for this season. Draft Stetson in one of the later rounds, and we're set. quickzero, JDaveG, Hashbrown3 and 3 others

Pa_Falcon_Fan
This is a perfect signing! Taylor has a good amount of starting experience, fits the offense, and is happy to compete, be the backup, and mentor. He is good enough to push Ridder and, should Ridder falter badly (which I doubt), step in, take over, and keep us competitive.
