ZoneOne01
Well, if Ridder isn’t the guy, they’re definitely pulling a Chiefs and trading up in the draft next year for a QB.

I'll never forget how hard he fought against the Bucs in those 2020 playoffs. Completely outmatched and forced into starting duty. He isn't the guy you want starting long term, but as an injury insurance option and just a gritty backup, I love it. Terry filling all the gaps. Agree completely. He played well on an offense that really only had one good WR and lacked support anywhere else. I think if Ridder struggles this is a great signing to ensure we remain competitive and then we likely draft a QB in 2024. If Ridder plays well we have one of the best backups in the NFL - very safe and smart decision here. falconut1991
Good backup QB signing. Now we can see what Ridder has in a full season with a veteran that wants to stick around and guide him when needed.

Probably good enough to be the starter of this team at this time. BUT not good enough in my opinion to win anything meaningful. He isn’t a qb that’s elevating a team to a championship. He doesn’t have any upside that Ridder could/possibly have. It all just depends. If he is cheap and is coming in as the #2 and he’s ok with that then it’s fine. If he is coming into compete in an open competition I don’t like that. I’ve seen enough of Taylor not to want him as my starter. I want to solve this teams QB problem. He doesn’t do that for me. I beg to differ. Taylor has a strong competitive drive to him and I think he'd be more than adequate in AS scheme. I think he is the perfect QB for this offense. Here's another way to look at it though. Whatever the Falcons end up doing at QB, they needed Heinicke If Ridder can't beat Heinicke out in TC, that's really valuable information for the future. The Falcons can still draft a a QB at 8, although I doubt they will. You would still need the veteran back up that he provides. Most likely scenario is that Ridder wins the job in TC and Heinicke remains a solid backup who can be a really good mentor for him. It's the role Mariota would have had had he not bailed on the team [ at a much lower price tag.] Lionzblade, ATLskinjob, RetroRoq and 1 other

mjqvi
I love this signing. This is the best possible signing for our system and situation QB wise. He is a guy that can run the system and if Ridder bombs we will be just fine with him as a QB manager with our running system. Great competition for the #1 QB this camp. Been a great first/second day for the front office. PokerSteve and DirtyBird757
