I truly believe Kyle Pitts is WR 2.

That is actually a brilliant idea. Which would explain bringing in a sub-prime TE from the Patriots. Moving Kyle Pitts into a hybrid WR2 role would be great, because I have never seen that guy as a real TE anyway... he has always been a hybrid WR/TE

I don't.  I think they're going to get someone in FA to take heat off London on the outside.  That way they can field a legit 12 personnel look with 5 solid pass catchers.  WR1, WR2, Pitts, Jonnu, Patterson.  It just opens up the rest of the offense when you can run 12 personnel, and switch it to, theoretically, 21, 11, 00, whatever.  You can really catch defenses with their pants down when you have that many guys that can double up at different spots.

I'm not saying that's the be all, end all.  But I do think they can't just go 11, 12 or 13 all the time and expect the RBs and TEs to make up for lack of talent outside.  Slide OZ back to no. 3 and/or get a couple of guys in the draft or some warm bodies in later FA to compete for the rest of the spots.  But they really need another bookend for London for this to work right.  And I think they'll get it.  He might not be a 1b type, but they'll get a legit WR this offseason to pair with London.

Now, I DO think Pitts might be the 2nd most targeted player in the pass game.  Possibly the most targeted. But I don't think they're just going to slide him outside and let Jonnu play TE.  They want to move these guys around a lot more than that.

I mean the dude literally lined up 75% of his snaps at a WR position so it's not like he isn't playing as one already lol.   You just let him do the other 25% as 2 TE sets with Smith and you are good to go.

Why would you dump Pitts outside at WR2 when you can make mismatches on the interior against safeties and OLB?

We have l already been doing that before we even got a TE the caliber of Smith to help out with it.  As said 75% of Pitts snaps were already at the slot position or outside WR.   Only 25% of his snaps were lined up as a TE spot.

Can Jonnu play H-back?  Seems like that would really help with formation versatility.

And agree they need a 2.  And they need him to have some speed and wiggle.  Lot of straight line and/or slowish players.  Need one dude to take the top off and be able to get some separation if they're paying too much attention to all the TE type dudes.

Because 2 years in we’re still not using him on inside routes. Either long outs or as a blocker. I agree his best chance of 1,200+ and 12+ touchdowns is short to medium up the middle. Let Drake and OZ or someone else drag out the corners and leave KP to steamroll a nickel.
