If FA goes well, why not trade up for Will Anderson?

Recommended Posts

If we get a lot of positions taken care of in free agency, on paper at least, then we should make a run at Anderson. Even if we had to trade up to #3 with Arizona and had to offer say our 2nd this year and a future 2nd-4th let's just say, then I'm all for it. Could end up only needing to go up to #5 with Seattle.

We can all agree he's a game changer waiting to happen in the NFL and helps get DE taken care of with a lackluster free agent pool at the position. Arizona and Seattle would be crazy to pass on him but for the right price, maybe they would.

Who says no?

The thing about Will Anderson though is that I noticed a good bit of his sacks came on plays where he was left unblocked.

He may turn out to be good, but I think he could be a bit overrated.

He also lined up in the neutral zone a lot, something that will get noticed by refs in the NFL a lot more than in college

Me ebiketie and carter will look a lot better now with defensive interior pressure, as long as they upgrade coverage too.

My thought is when you have a lot of holes (LB, Edge, CB, S, OL, QB(1 or 2?) you don't give up picks.  You either keep or acquire more.  We aren't one player away so lets not move up and pretend we are.

Lb is fine edge is fone safety is fine corner is very thin, ol kind of thin, backup qb is thin

That definitely will help, along with the new DC. I think Anderson takes the DL to another level though. I'm just worried it'll end up continuing to be our weakest link on defense. But we'll see

Because this is the NFL and you never know when you'll need depth at multiple positions. Draft picks play a huge part in that depth.

That's true, but when you can get a Von Miller type guy it's worth it. I get the risk and some aren't sold on him, but if our coaches are and we get him it'd be pretty exciting times around here

I worry about it too, but i remember the 2nd time we played Brady and the pressure in his face was instant he still got rid of the ball. Ofcourse this was when falcons were pulling guys off the street to play corner. It still sticks out to me though that yeah pass rush was a problem but was it because of lack of inside pressure and lack or coverage?

Our coverage was terrible all over the field, especially the linebackers.

Likely both I'd say ha in a perfect world suring up the inside of the DL and the secondary helps our current guys be more consistent and effective
