TheRisen999
click the link to watch on YouTube 🙄 .. Guys like Allgeier are the reason I get so excited about the draft. Yea sure, we know who all the top guys are but when the GM hits on a guy like this it’s shows they’ve been putting in the work and it makes you trust their eye for talent. Tyler was absolutely the steal of our last draft haul. I mean, my God! Watch this man run! Its passion, it’s determination, it’s grit, it’s toughness and violence with just enough finesse to make him sneakily elusive.. I love it! He is what we’ve been pining for sense Michael Turner dawned the red and black. A bruiser who makes opposing defenders make “business decisions” when contemplating tackling him. No, I’m not comparing him to Turner, Jerome Bettis or even former Minnesota Viking Robert Smith (Who I believe would be his closest player comparison) but A 5th round pick that becomes the leading rookie rusher in Atlanta Falcons history? Who saw that coming? Given the fact that he didn’t start or play to begin the season and was still able to achieve that feat I believe we’re in for a treat this coming season. As we know Terry Fontenot and staff really do have a knack for finding those overlooked gems and believe this coming draft will more of the same. I’ve dubbed this draft the “Tandem” draft (I think we find our WR#2,CB#2, Allgeier’s backup and A.K.’s bookend this year) This time around I think we find Allgeier’s running mate as C.P. is still effective but an older back. I can see him becoming more of a Swiss Army knife while we grab another late round jewel to compliment Allgeier.  In 2023 I see the pieces coming together and our Atlanta Falcons running the South. We have the right GM, the right coach and money and draft picks to acquire the right players. Our running game is potent and only going to get better. We’ll return T.Q. to help free up Grady Jarrett, Kyle Pitts is on track to return as a matchup threat with Drake London and I think Des Ridder will be ready to step into his roll as QB#1. Believe it or not it’s a great time to be a Falcons fan! Let’s GO!!     rounz, Killing Floor and Falcons_Frenzy

Killing Floor
Um, yeah. Gears was an absolute hit by Terry in the draft.  Does anyone even remember when Tyreek Hill was drafted?  The round isn’t what determines their success. dirtybirds233
Artys Arryn
I preached the good word of Gears prior to and after the draft. Glad he proved me right. That said, keep stacking late round backs. Build a stable. In my opinion there is rarely a better position to draft on Day 3 than RB. tbhawksfan and ramonezy

Missing the first game of the season just meant he did it in 16 games rather than 17, which would have given him a game in hand.

Drunken Minotaur Zebra
Stuff like this is why I enjoy the later rounds/UDFA period more than the top 3 rounds. It's fun to scout UDFAs and later picks and guess who we will hit on.  This past offseason really showed the great eyes for talent we have in the FO now. Dee Alford, Jared Bernhardt, Abdullah Anderson, Elijah Wilkinson, Chuma Edoga, etc... a bunch of "JAGs" (and one CFL star) turned into contributors if not starters. Love it.

RB, WR, and DL value can be found throughout the draft and tend to have a higher bust rate when taken in the 1st round. S, LB, and IOL success tends to trend towards the round they were drafted in. QB and CB were considered complete toss-ups in terms of success. Killing Floor
flrybranch
My rules on RBs. 1) Don't draft them before day 3. I might be able to live with a late day 2 pick. 2) Draft a RB every year. Just have to hit every 3-4 years. 3) Don't give an RB his second contract. 3b) Tons of vet RBs looking for their 3rd or 4th contract. They will be cheaper.
OrthoPTSD
 One thing this coaching staff can hang they hat on is running the ball. Huntley was out performing Gears at one point last year. From... the practice squad. High hopes they can continue this, the RB from Oregon State on practice squad has a little more juice than either Huntley or Gears
