Snafu
Say in FA we got something like the following FS -Jessie Bates DT -Dalvin Tomlinson or Javon Hargrave LB - TJ Edwards WR - JuJu Would you want to make the move? DonDaLuvMaker
JuJu is going to want to get paid like a top WR. Rather get a cheap vet and also draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. TheRisen999, Mid-Nite-Toker, Doctor Kildare and 4 others
Killing Floor
I would be on board. The draft and FA are contests to see who can get the best players. The best players don’t have to be cheap. Best is better than meh. The corners we don’t cut this winter and spring will affect our record this fall. While fiscal management is important, the NFL isn't a grocery shopping gameshow where you get bonus points for using coupons saving as much money as possible. If having cap room was the end all be all, the Chicago Bears would be the current champions. Killing Floor, Falcster and H2O 2

In fact its a common statement to say someone "won FA" and its a derogatory statement. Spending does not equal wins. My claim was not "every team that spends big in FA is guaranteed success." It was that "teams don't win trophies for being miserly with their money." Spending or not spending are not directly correlated to wins/losses.

Pa_Falcon_Fan
Trading up to 3rd from 8th for the top player in the draft who also happens to be at our top position of need (pass rush)... as much as I don't like giving up draft capital, I would pull the trigger on that one. Would TF and AS do so? I'm not sure though. Falconus Prime and MarkMc44
duckhoa
If we have a very productive FA period, and Will Anderson falls to #3 in the draft.... I would stay at 8 and draft Tyree Wilson....6' 6", 275.....He fits our draft strategy. TheRisen999 and Chitown2ATL_Falcon

True for the most part but every now and again a team tops up beautifully in FA even though their FA class was unanimously poo pooed. See Jags last season. They're saying jakobi Myers will get 15 mil a year..... He ain't gonna get paid like a top guy but I bet it's still significant especially after missing a huge pay day last year youngbloodz
