If we have a very productive FA period, and Will Anderson falls to #3 in the draft....

I would be on board. The draft and FA are contests to see who can get the best players. The best players don’t have to be cheap.  Best is better than meh. The corners we don’t cut this winter and spring will affect our record this fall.

Agree 100%. While fiscal management is important, the NFL isn't a grocery shopping gameshow where you get bonus points for using coupons saving as much money as possible.

If having cap room was the end all be all, the Chicago Bears would be the current champions.

I can show you so many teams that spent big in FA and "won FA" and failed to win during the season. In fact its a common statement to say someone "won FA" and its a derogatory statement. Spending does not equal wins.

Sure, you could show me that,  but it's not responsive to what I posted.

My claim was not "every team that spends big in FA is guaranteed success." It was that "teams don't win trophies for being miserly with their money."

Cool story bro. Spending or not spending are not directly correlated to wins/losses.

True for the most part but every now and again a team tops up beautifully in FA even though their FA class was unanimously poo pooed. See Jags last season.

JuJu is going to want to get paid like a top WR. Rather get a cheap vet and also draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Ain’t no way JuJu getting paid like a top WR. He may want to but I don’t see it.
