SoCalFalconFan
I think it would be Carter. And I would rather have Carter, who at over 300 lbs ran a faster 40 than Mahomes. Anyway, just making conversation. Although, I wouldn't be mad at a trade up for Carter, I think my preference is to stick with Ridder, grab some strategic pro pieces in free agency, and build through the draft. What would you prefer? Bombers79
IMO you only trade up for a QB or if you are one player away. I don't think we are in a position to trade up for Carter/Anderson. Freddies 3rd Cuz

dirtybirds233
Lamar is going to cost at a minimum 3 1st rounders and likely a couple of 2nd/3rd rounders. That's before taking into account the hundreds of millions of guaranteed dollars. Jalen Carter (or the 1st overall pick) would probably cost 2 1st rounders and a future mid round. red falcon
I would rather the team not give up what it takes to get LJ. Keep building the team. Does always seem pass rush is weak when we have low picks. FalconFanSince1969
There's no way you trade up with ridder being such an unknown. If he bombs we are looking at a top 5 pick again Maltese Falcon, celtiksage, SoCalFalconFan and 4 others
215FalconsFanatic
You cant just trade up. This isnt madden. A team has to want to trade down. Also you have to wow them with the offer. Only reason bears would trade down is the premium on QBs and they have so many holes to fill. Say we traded with them for a QB. Its a steal for them our 8 and our 2nd and our first next year which would be a mid 1st at best (realistically) and maybe another 2 after that. If i am building around my QB, sign me up. Bryce or Stroud or Carter aint going to do spit for us if we have give up our premium picks to do it. We arent that close. Oh just go out and sign these free agents and draft these people, BOOM we a superbowl contender. It doesnt work like that. Detroits arrow is up BUT they still have work to do. They even lucked up with Goff who is better than people realize. I would LOVE Carter. I drool at him and Grady being Batman and Superman but not at that cost. I dont value DTs and not sure thing QBs that much. Tim Mazetti

I'd be happy with Ridder, but if they traded up for Young, I'm not going to abandon ship. As you said, a trade-up for Carter just seems like so much more appropriate given our dumpster fire on the defensive side of the ball. We'll know more about what we're doing in the draft after FA, but even then there will still be plenty of unanswered questions to keep us occupied. See the problem is that it is all subjective so the "best player available" is a logistic joke. For example, the RB Bijan is super highly rated, but will he get picked at 8? And the answer will be he is not rated high on our board. Super convenient premise.
