The Giants see Stroud slipping and pounce. He has All-Pro upside as a passer. They trade away pick No. 26 overall, their second-round pick (No. 58 overall), and 2024 first-round and fourth-round picks.

The Falcons are overjoyed to land Murphy after the big trade back. With good coaching, Murphy can be an awesome three-down defensive end.

2nd Round:

No. 44: Atlanta Falcons - Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah

No. 57: Atlanta Falcons (from New York Giants mock trade) - Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

My opinion: I don't like the picks, but I would feel more comfortable drafting with Murphy that late while adding another 23' 2nd round pick and a 24' 1st rounder. No TE that early in the 2nd, rather go defense or WR. Same with the second 2nd rounder.

Thats a tough call if Stroud available.

I think you kinda have to take him.

But if hes gone and somebody wants 8 move down for sure.

Two firsts next year are great QB ammunition if Ridder doesn't show us something.

More likely Will Levis and Richardson are there at 8, I'd take a year of Ridder instead in that case.

Why draft a TE in the 2nd when we can resign Pruitt for little and draft a TE like Payne Durham in the mid to late rounds.

Yeah, that's the pick I hate the most.

Now if Pitts and Kincaide turn into some deadly TE 1A and 1B combo then I'll gladly admit I was wrong lol.

Is Tyler supposed to run the ball 650 times on his own?

yes

650 x 4.9 = 3185 yards.

Not that you didn't already know this.

I had to do the math for myself.

Should get him MVP unless Lamar Jackson plays 4 games or more next year.

Allgeier might demand a new contract though.

I would love the trade down ,.. don't think Murphy will be there ... but I would rather get Broderick Jones at 1... 2A -Ade Adebawore and 2B - Eli Ricks .... getting those players plus a first and second for next year ... if ridder is not the one... go all in for Caleb you would have 2 firsts and 2 seconds..

Absolutely love the idea of trading down and picking up picks. However, saying you're going to get Murphy that far down is not being very realistic though. Nolan Smith, Darnell Wright, Brian Branch or Jalin Hyatt are more realistic picks in the mid 20s.

In terms of drafting TEs in the 2nd Rd, if he's still available Darnell Washington is my guy because he would be the perfect compliment to Pitts. Kincaid makes absolutely zero sense because you already have your light blocking, pass-focused TE in Pitts. No sense to bring in another one.

With Washington he won't have to come off the field ever because he will be your 6th OL in the run game and has enough wiggle and speed to be effective in the passing game. Your TE position is set for the next 5-7 years.

Lastly, no thanks on drafting a RB in the 2nd Rd, even if it is Jamyr Gibbs. He's a talented player, no doubt, but if last year proved anything, it proved that value at the RB position can be found in the later rounds. I think the Falcons go stud OL or DL here. FA is going to play a part in helping us figure out some of these picks.

Definitely a different draft. I don’t mind the trade down and Giants are in a desperate enough place to do it. Murphy falling that far seems far fetched but then again people are already down on him and a combine that doesn’t meet expectations will be brutal for his draft stock. If one was considering us going rb so early why not just grab bijan at 24. It’s a strength on strength play but he is top 5 in talent player in this draft and is safest pick that late.  Then use next two picks on defense
