hjerry
Veteran contracts and especially QB contracts have been getting larger every year. It's a lot of the reason why the owners have started altering recent CBAs to favor lesser grade players. Vandy

I’m just making my case so I’ll retract the last part 😛 Trust me I’m not jacked up about this stuff. Matter of fact if my heart was beating any slower right now I’d be sleeping haha. Back home after being on the road all week. 25 degrees on the mountain, two glasses of wine with my wife outside in the hot tub & my mind is on the next steps wink wink!! Enjoying the beginning of a long 3 day weekend 👍

Cleveland’s stupidity saved AB’s hide to a certain degree I think.🤔 They threw piles of cash at a suspended player who finally got on the field to prove one player ain’t bringing you a SB. So please Arthur, just stay away from personnel matters please. No wore DW idiocy. No more Falcon for life nonsense & No more Julio Jones contract foolishness. Who knows maybe the DW thingy will cause teams to wise up a little bit more?? QBs are getting to have such ridiculous bargaining power. Hopefully they use it to secure better contract structure for the rest of the league. Hashbrown3
Voice of Reason
This is why I was wondering why so many on here were celebrating a couple of weeks ago when they announced how every teams’ cap number was going up by several million. That was horrible news for this franchise. While so many here were being short-sighted saying “yeah, we got so much extra money to spend…” well guess what? So does every team in the league. All that increase meant was several teams who may have to part ways with a few FAs that we could then take a shot at, well now they have the money to keep those valued players. It means fewer high valued players for our choosing. FalconFanSince1969

If the Falcons didn't get involved the saints would have gotten DW which means they would possibly dominate the division for the next 5-10 years. falconsd56
It took the salary cap going backwards by 20 million for the falcons to be in severe cap trouble. Other teams are significantly worse in a year where the cap went up significantly. But I bet that those teams manage some how to sign guy to more than vet minimum deals

IDK you make a fair point but my point was that DW made stupid money that we’re thankful we couldn’t/wouldn’t match. Same thing may have happened to NO too…outbid by the Browns. Just happy we didn’t tie up all that Jack on one guy guaranteed.
