ATLSlobberKnockers
Looking at the current cap figures, which I know will change drastically, I see that Atlanta has the 2nd most cap space. The Bears have nearly 100 mil!?! Anyway I noticed that only about 10 teams have any substantial cap space (10+mil) and that only 16 teams are in the red. Any capologists know if this is normal? I usually pay little attention since we haven"t had space in a while. Falcons Fan MVP

My guess is a two things- one teams trying to get more playoff run out of veteran QBs and pushing cap space into the future to do so. And, when the cap went down a couple of years ago, teams pushed cap space into future years to balance the books for that year. That makes plenty of sense and remember thinking that when they lowered the cap in 2020. If this is the result of that, we bought high and sold low. Were in the best post season position to improve the roster that I ever remember.
Mister pudding
Don't know if it's normal for half the teams to be in the negative, but it was an annual occurrence for us for many years! ImElPresidente
With how the NFLPA and the contracts are nowadays it’s gonna start becoming a lot more common for teams to be in the negative! I mean Matt Ryan just had the highest cap hit in NFL history last year with $48M and now it’s Deshaun Watson with almost $55M and it’s just gonna keep getting worse as time goes on! The ONLY way you’re gonna be able to build a team is through the draft pretty soon, so no more buying teams like Tampa! So in other words if your GM/Front Office aren’t good in the draft you’re teams just gonna be SOL unfortunately! labradford
FalconFanSince1969
Definitely don't think it'd normal. You usually have 4-6 teams in the red. Teams making that last big push trying to win. Half the league is kinda crazy. Herr Doktor

Cleveland’s stupidity saved AB’s hide to a certain degree I think.🤔 They threw piles of cash at a suspended player who finally got on the field to prove one player ain’t bringing you a SB. So please Arthur, just stay away from personnel matters please. No wore DW idiocy. No more Falcon for life nonsense & No more Julio Jones contract foolishness. Who knows maybe the DW thingy will cause teams to wise up a little bit more?? Emmitt, falconsd56, Tim Mazetti and 1 other 3
Aluminafalcon
League has learned how saints did their accounting and have apparel it especially when in a championship window. That being said it mainly reduces pain for the present. Eventually it starts catching up and you go through what the falcons have experienced the last 3 years

The Browns aren’t just one player away anyway. And there’s no way you can tell me that we wouldn’t be a better team with Watson this year if he could have played a whole season in ATL we would have definitely at least won our division and made the playoffs! Deshaun Watson was horrible this year. I don't think he would have changed anything tbh. In 6 games - 58% completion rate, 183 YPG, 7 TDs, 5 INTs, 79 QB Rating and sacked 20 times. Okay buddy. Are you suggesting that the Browns didn’t already know he was going to be suspended? So no need to pretend otherwise. It was only a matter of the severity…with significant time lost in either case. LOL @ Browns aren’t one player away. No sheet, really?? And how bout us? Just one player away?? Of course not. So NEITHER TEAM should have been so stupid as to pay that sort of compensation for a dude that did nothing when he did play. You’re making my case for me, thanks. Can you imagine if there’s more crap left to sue him for after all this? His behavior is questionable at best. Same applied to LJ. Ravens had way more talent than us & the Browns & Lamar couldn’t even get that team over the hump. You’re in fantasy land if you think DW’s contract would have helped this struggling Falcons organization that’s for dam sure. Is this DeShaun’s agent? 😆 Please spare me the lesson in absurdity. Of course the Browns organization knew Watson was about to be suspended. This is why they set his contract to earn $402K base salary and a $8.99M signing bonus for the 2022 season, following with a $46M base salary and $8.99M signing bonus from 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons.
