Should the Falcons hire a real offensive coordinator?

Recommended Posts

I've heard several Falcons fans say that Arthur Smith needs to hire a real offensive coordinator. It doesn't look like it's going to happen this off-season but.....

Do you think that Arthur Smith should hire an offensive coordinator to help him out? Or do you think he should keep it the way it is? Your thoughts?

I don’t know. Maybe Ragone is the OG OC or maybe not. All I know is he’s been pretty invisible on game day. We know Smith has a lot of fun making the calls. I think the bigger question is whether AS would yield some of the play calling. If he doesn’t let someone else make calls it really doesn’t matter as much who is in the booth.

If anything, make HIM the offensive coordinator and bring in a head coach.  I don't like a lot of his personnel decisions.  A lot of coaches are better suited as coordinators and not head coaches.

Who do you think is responsible for getting our run game going?

I feel like this is the same thread as when you ask how we feel about Smith's playcalling

Probably because it is. Lol

I'm fine with our current situation, and that includes Arthur continuing to call plays

THIS!

If Arthur seemed clueless at HC, then it would be different. But he doesn’t.

It's not so much his play calling (even though he cost us the chargers game by going pass happy against the worst run defense) I don't want him to overwhelm himself like Dan Quinn did.

I prefer having the head coach be the play caller. Why? Because we don't have to worry about the OC leaving after having a good year or 2 for a head coaching job elsewhere.

You know, Kliff Kingsbury lost his HC job probably because of his insistence on calling the offensive plays. So it can work the other way too, when you implode on offense like the Cards did then sometimes you lose your HC when you fire the OC. 😄

Being fine with situations isn't what we're about here on TATF! It's sadly apparent you're not focused nearly enough on the catastrophic ****storm which awaits us just over the next hill. 😆
