Jerry Gray joining falcons staff

Recommended Posts

This is awesome news, guy had a hand in helping Alexander become a premier CB, can only imagine what he's going to do with AJ and company.

Even before FA has started I'd say the Falcons are making winning moves this off-season.

I like how serious our GM/HC has become, they continue to work and do their due diligence when most teams are enjoying their vacation.

Huge move. This off-season is off to the right start.

It's definitely encouraging to see the staff addressing key concerns well before FA/Draft gets underway.

Both hires have come from teams with impressive defensive resumes, I like the way year 3 is beginning. AS/TF mean business

That also means we will have their input going into FA/draft. If we can lock in all these guys and get them on board with the scouts... I have high hopes for the offseason.

I’m seeing Packers fans mad we stole Gray saying he was their only good defensive guy. Saints fans also made we stole Nielsen. Defensive staff shaping up nicely so far.

Best way to judge a coaching hire is how pissed their old team is that they're gone, lol.

Titans didn't like us taking AS and their offense declined noticeably, we knew Shanny would be gone and ofc our offense regressed (Sark pick was a bit odd, also), and he turned into a great HC... as much as I can't stand him for blowing the SB.

This is similar to the formula that worked in New Orleans. Nielsen worked with Aaron Glenn and Kris Richard, strong defensive back coaches who were experienced beyond many position coaches. With a strong coach like Gray, it seems that it would allow Nielson to focus on the pass rush and line play.
