I repeat for all you Ryan haters, I don't mind that much that he is gone, he still had a little tread on his tires. It's just the way the Face of this Franchise was treated like an old shoe and just dumped. Furthermore, Ridder is just not ready to lead this team and might never be. I'll stick to my wish for a vet QB to come in here and school Ridder, and whatever QB they will surely draft. What if both rookies are busts? Without a vet QB we would be back at square one. Enjoyed the discussion, even though most of y'all were obviously wrong. Bye for now. See you after the draft for your apologies. 😁

We all know Ryan was not going to take a step backwards and "tutor/mentor" his replacement, just like virtually all top-tier QBs has not done. Not that they have bad attitudes or being a bad guy, some are just that competitive. In fact, when he was benched in Indy did you notice the distance he stood away from Sam Ehlinger on the sidelines? In fact, again, have you done any research to find at least one top-tier QB that has done what you think Matt Ryan would have done? I remember that. For those that did not see it, this is not a bomb or rocket pass. And, Byron was close to the red zone. He just wound up and the ball took flight like a plane taking off. It went so high, I was near speechless. The ball went 20 feet over the receiver's head and he was only about 20-30 yards away from Byron. It is the most errant pass I have seen, and that includes scholastic ball, playing neighborhood pickup ball, everything. In fact, a pass like that in pickup ball would get you kicked off the field. The only thing worse was watching Kurt Kittner nervously wringing his hands after each pass. Kurt was so afraid of rushers, he would get the ball and just fling it and wait to see who came down with it. How that guy ended up on a NFL team is a real mystery. My HS football coach would have sent him to the showers during the first practice. If you are reading this, you are a better QB than Kurt Kittner. I never stated he played to Ryan’s age; I stated that when people were calling for Vick back he still had his ability. Ryan’s best ability right now is the knowledge he can pass to a younger QB. His arm is severely diminished, his ability to diagnose a play quicker than the defense can react is severely diminished, and his durability is also severely diminished. As a starting QB, Ryan’s time is over. Next season, any team that has him as their #1 is either desperate for anyone or suffered an injury to their true starter. Ryan had a nice career, it’s time for him to ride into the sunset.

And honestly, with the Colts being so bad I don’t know what Ryan does or doesn’t have at this point. Jesus could’ve lined up under center for that team and I still think they would have sucked something horrible.

They weren’t good by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, Ryan was a cause not a symptom of that. Watching Ryan’s performances, he is not the same player he was. He’s weaker in every aspect of the game. It was a relief to see him on the analysts panel. I think that’s what he needs to focus on, and where his future lies. It was a cumulative effort for the Colts to be that bad; everything kind of hit them all at once

Now as far as Ryan, I need to see him in an average to above average situation to say if or what he has lost. He NEVER had a strong arm and when you can’t step into a throw either because there is someone there OR you are shell shocked from too many hits, it’s going to effect what you can put on a throw. Not trying to say he is just as good as he USE TO BE, but this last season is not a fair representation of where he is. Killing Floor
Also, Maybe the Watson thing was reckless. Maybe he never recaptures his form which was top 3. But I don’t like the term “greedy” to describe what Blank did. That effort was looking for a spark which we absolutely didn’t have. So in hindsight it worked out that he’s not here but I’m glad we kicked the tires.

I hate to say this but… Trae Young maybe suffering from the same thing that makes him great, also makes him horrific! If Vick would have taken the time to learn the offense and read defenses, he would have been beyond touchable! Killing Floor

You can get a fair estimation of Ryan’s abilities when viewing him under favorable circumstances and plays. Unfortunately they weren’t what I would consider average play. His diagnosis of these plays seems much more time consuming. His arm was always just good; never great. His ability to dissect the play was light years quicker. For a purely pocket passing QB, having those skills diminish could be a death sentence. After this year’s and 2021’s performances I doubt we see him in a starting capacity for any team ‘in the hunt’ or on the cusp.
