That's what should have been done in the first place. Ryan isn't the same player he once was and was benched 2 or 3 times by the Colts this season. He'll also be 38 years old and not a fit for AS's offense athletically. It's over man. blizzard_falcon, FalconJim, Hard2BaBirdWachr and 4 others 6

Yeah, it's odd because it's clear that Ryan is close to done at this point but yet people want to hold on to what used to be. Wonder what Chris Chandler doing these days? We have a rookie who is honesty a pretty good player. Indy’s o line was no worse than ours. And their receivers are better than ours. Ryan threw 14 TD and 13 interceptions. That’s not a good look for a team that absolutely must make the playoffs next year. Besides, you’re acting like Falcons cut him. Look it up. He asked to be traded. It would have been great of him to play his final year (on contract to ATL) to honor his commitments to the team and the fans. But he wanted to leave. He wasn’t benched by Smith. How about we honor him appropriately when he is officially retired? Ryan was the best Falcon ever. But that faded fast over the last few seasons. Let's test to see how Jamal Anderson's repaired knee is holding up these past 20 years. An Allgeier/Anderson RB combo could be deadly. That's what should have been done in the first place. That is not the only reason why he's gone. Arthur Smith needs a mobile QB to run the offense he's trying to run and Watson would have fit that mold. Since we missed out on that (or should I say dodged that bullet), we got the closest thing in Mr. Butt Throw and drafted a good decision maker and mobile QB in the draft.
