Do we bring back Lorenzo Carter?

He'd be the second priority on my list (McGary) if I'm Fontenot. He's the type of player needed to fill out a roster. Every player isn't going to be an all-pro.

He'd be a solid starter again. Obviously, he's upgradeable but he's definitely not a problem.

While he didn't have eye popping sack numbers he seemed to always be around the football.  I don't see him cashing in so why not on a 1 or 2 year deal. At worst he is a nice depth piece.

Isiah Oliver is the only player I feel like we NEED to retain. Carter would be a nice rotational piece if he'd be willing to take rotational piece money.

Oliver really thrived the last couple of games in the hybrid safety role.  Might be smart to keep him.

My vote is yes. I think we bring back him and Evans. Neither did enough to warrant a big payday in FA as they were both on 1 years deals, but both of those players were upgrades for our defense.

Idk. Evans had a great year at LB. He isn’t some 3 down stud but he isn’t a complete liability in coverage either. I liked what he and Carter brought to the team. 2 of our most consistent defenders. Both had a few big plays this year too.

We are weak at MLB and OLB. Letting him walk makes a big hole. Carter was a good edge setter and played those shallow zones well in coverage. At worse we bring them back as solid starters and find guys more adept to sub with them for Nickel packages.

I think we can upgrade both our starting edge positions thru the draft and Fa. Yannick Ngakoue and Tyree Wilson.

But you still need rotational guys. I’d love to pick up both guys. I’d rather add them to what we have then have them replace what we got and still need pieces to keep them fresh.

They could try to keep Evans for continuity at the least.  I was disappointed with our ILB group as a whole.  Maybe rookie struggles for Anderson, but Walker doesn't have that excuse.  I'm not opposed with looking for an upgrade at this position in the draft or FA.
