bird_brain
I think we can upgrade both our starting edge positions thru the draft and Fa. Yannick Ngakoue and Tyree Wilson. Stryka
Snafu
If he is willing to come back as a rotational guy on a rotational guys salary, sure. Chitown2ATL_Falcon, Stryka, gazoo and 10 others
Bunchy Carter
He'd be the second priority on my list (McGary) if I'm Fontenot. He's the type of player needed to fill out a roster. Every player isn't going to be an all-pro. He'd be a solid starter again. Obviously, he's upgradeable but he's definitely not a problem. 1989Fan
I wouldn’t be against it, but he isn’t needed either. The team needs 1-2 starters/upgrades at edge. If you upgrade starters do you pay him $5M a season to be depth, being you already have 3 guys on affordable rookie deals? He really shouldn’t get paid any more than he did for this season, as he had a better season with NYG the year prior. He’s JAG really. tbhawksfan and PokerSteve
Francis York Morgan
Definitely. He's a solid 3 or 4 EDGE. Not a 1 like he was treated this year, but not worrying about retaining anyone who isn't a 1 is part of the problem with teams lacking pass rush depth. He isn't gonna get a big bag. Add to the room instead of ripping it apart imho ATLskinjob, Lethal and autigerfan
bossFALCON™
Great depth, athleticism, and was solid on teams. He’s still young. I think we bring him back as a rotational guy. Kaptain Krazy, Slim Jim and dyrtysouth2000
atljbo
I like me some Zo but it depends... You go into FA and see what's out there to be had improvement wise.. That option is there tho (bringing zo back)
Aluminafalcon
Love his athleticism but he is a lower tier edge and needs to be replaced. If I’m keeping him it’s only because I’m going to try use that athleticism at a different position like say ilb

dyrtysouth2000
I say yes to resigning Zo. Whoever we bring in as an "upgrade" will still have to learn the system. Zo already knows it, and plays in it well. Bunchy Carter and Kaptain Krazy
celtiksage
Yes, but for the right amount. He should be a rotational piece. If you watch other teams, especially the good ones (Bills, Cinci), they bring violence when they tackle. I saw that from Carter yesterday. Makes him a keeper. He was ripping people to the ground instead of just falling down with them. I don't think we have very many that do that. Only AJ and Grady and Carter. Kaptain Krazy
If performance is the measure, yes. He was the best edge DL for Atlanta this year. I Even Bleed Red and primetime 1

Emmitt
I think he played well enough. I would be very happy with him if we had someone with better pash rushing ability on the opposite side. He makes a great 2nd option

My vote is yes. I think we bring back him and Evans. Neither did enough to warrant a big payday in FA as they were both on 1 years deals, but both of those players were upgrades for our defense. Bridgeburner
Carter, evans, Abdullah Anderson, Heyward, would be nice to keep them all on good deals. None of them are worth overpaying for. We need to look for guys to replace them as starters. making them go from starters to depth pieces and letting our weaker depth pieces go is how this team gets better. Banana Bandit
Isiah Oliver is the only player I feel like we NEED to retain. Carter would be a nice rotational piece if he'd be willing to take rotational piece money. 1989Fan

Yeah, really Carter may be 4th or 5th on my re-sign pecking order (Oliver, McGary, Evans, Wilkinson) tbhawksfan

I know some on here hate the word continuity, but, LoL, we do need some of that. I don't view him as a backup, but a good rotational player. Remember this. The more new players on the roster, the thinner each coach and trainer gets stretched. When you are in a rebuild, you want to maintain as much as possible. 1989Fan

If we sign or trade for a new pass rusher and take one in the draft would we keep 6 on the roster?
