Popular Post darkbirdflying
Like a lot of people, I felt we were all in for a 3-14 season filled with blowout after blowout. Instead we got a season filled with entertaining games that resulted in a win streak to end the season + a top 10 draft pick. We enter the off-season knowing …. - Our rookie QB had the proper time to sit and learn before gaining playing experience under ideal circumstances that allowed his confidence to grow week to week. - Our offensive line is establishing themselves as a dominate run unit and take pride in blocking for our stable of physical RBs. - Our top pick in Drake London has built a great relationship with our young QB. As a Falcon fan, it’s hard to imagine a better (realistic) situation heading into the first off-season in quite some time the team figures to be a major FA player. I gotta give it to Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith. They have successfully navigated us through the darkness our previous regime leftist in. Rebuilding us into a winner starts now! Sui_Generis
It went well. Could have been better, save for some timely penalties and bone headed turnovers. I like what AS and TF are building. A bully on Offense, a work in progress on defense. Give Pees some pieces! rounz, PokerSteve, Marco102 and 6 others

Snowen
Perfectly would imply playoffs+.. but they did well for the situation. It's kinda sour thinking if Ridder came in a few games earlier, they maybe would have made the playoffs, but the way he dominated that Tampa D in his final showing looks good for 2023. If TF has another offseason like that, Falcons are gonna be good. Killing Floor, red falcon and JohnnyFranchise
Killing Floor
Saints, Rams, Bucs, Chargers, Panthers, Commanders, Steelers, Saints were all games we had no business losing. Blame anyone or anything. But the quarterback we had today would have won 6 more of those if we started him sooner, take your pick. I’m a fan forever and I am super excited about next season as always. But our division was walk-off winnable this year. Looking back doesn’t do anything. I’m pleased we won more than 3-4 but I always thought we’d outperform the hater’s odds. Maybe, hopefully next year. The Jags are in the playoffs. The freaking Jags! We can do better. I can’t wait. PokerSteve
Well said, OP. The experts said this team sucked, would only win two or three games and was the worst team in the league. The Falcons took a sideways look at the so-called expert prognosticators and shoved all their negative predictions where the sun don't shine. As you said, the Falcons suddenly have a dominant running game from out of nowhere. The experts never saw that s*** coming either. But the real big deal is Ridder rapidly emerging as the Falcon QB1 despite only having four games to give the FO a glimpse of what he can do in this offense. AS and TF have indeed gotten us through the Quinn/TD Tire Fire and back into position to have a good to great team for the next five to seven years at the very least. It's been a surprisingly good season, but we're going to be enjoying even more exciting football vs the Big Dogs beginning next year. KRUNKuno
We were in prime position to win the division and we squandered it by playing a QB that had no business playing for way too long. That same QB said deuces after he was benched after many reports of him being a consummate leader. It was the fatal flaw of this entire season, but things happen for a reason. Drunken Minotaur Zebra
We got a top 10 draft pick, have our offensive core of the future, found gems across the board in UDFA/FA/Draft, AND we beat Brady + gave him his first losing season ever. **** yeah it did. Sun Tzu 7
Perfectly? No. They wasted a good portion of the season playing a QB they knew wasn’t going to be around next year. Best scenario would have been a repeat of 2008. Rookie QB leading the team to the playoffs. dirtybirds233, Diesel_Bird, FalconJim and 3 others
FalconJim
No. Obviously, the season didn't go perfectly. If it had, we'd be in the Post Season! However, it went better than most expected, including me. Kaptain Krazy
Wow, we have very different understandings of what the word "perfectly" means. Having attended today's game in the cavernous MBS that was half-filled, at best (and that includes the numerous fans of other teams who wore their Steelers and 49ers gear), I can say that "this season has gone perfectly" was one conclusion that never crossed my mind. Here's hoping 2023 is perfect-er, assuming that means a winning record for the first time in six years and a playoff berth. quickzero, ratesforless, tbhawksfan and 1 other
