Kaptain Krazy
1. Ride with Ridder. He's good enough for Atlanta to take the next step (become a consistent playoff team) and him being the QB is the most likely scenario for this regime (Smith & Fontenot) to lead the Falcons there (gotta invest resources elsewhere, see #2). 2. Ehhhhh-biketie. He was on the sideline a lot during key drives and critical 3rd downs. Not a good sign. The experiment of thinking this team's pass rush can be fixed with 2nd round "upside" players and "athletic freaks from the FCS" needs to end. Ebiketie, Malone, and Anderson are good depth in rotation, none of them are ready to be a threat opposing OC's have to account for in the gameplan (and won't be in 2023 either). Free Agency AND the draft. The Defense in general, and pass rush especially, is starving for attention from the front office. 3. Allgeier is the RB Smith needs for his Offense, but Smith may not be the play caller he needs for his team. A 5th round RB who played in UT and has a strong debut, flashing speed and strength? All Allgeier needs to do now is popularize a new dance and the circle will be complete. Kudos to him for a fantastic rookie season. As for Smith, he has room for improvement just like Ridder does. Another year of an Offense that is "really good at some things, but overall meh" cannot happen without him needing to strongly reconsider whether someone else should call plays so he can focus on being the HC. 4. Playoffs or 🔥 Seat in 2023. 14-20 has been better than many predicted but Year 3 has to accomplish more than "not as crappy as many predicted." Whatever it takes, Atlanta needs to be playing after Week 18 next season. ratesforless, YungFalco, jidady and 7 others 6

My take is based more on "what path forward gets the Falcons out of this abyss"? And using a top-10 pick this offseason on a QB doesn't get the team any closer for 2023 or 2024, imo. Neither Stroud nor Young will be able to put this team on their shoulders and overcome the talent dearth on the LOS. Get the D fixed and expect Arthur Smith to be a good enough Offensive mind to win with competent QB play + Allgeier + two top-10 receivers. If he can't do that, he needs to relinquish control of the Offense. ATL Fan in the DMV, FalconJim, PokerSteve and 2 others

We needed defense the last two drafts and went TE and WR… TE at 4 is/was and will always be crazy, that was the draft to trade down in. As is, the choice isn't draft D or draft Stroud. It's draft D or draft Will Levis/Anthony Richardson. Spongebob

I'm not gonna anoint him our franchise QB yet... but I am expecting him to be the guy. Dude we'd have to mortgage the future to trade up for Stroud at #1. I would be shocked if Young goes over Stroud. And then to boot, there's no guarantee Stroud is better than Ridder... AND if we gave up a haul to get Stroud then we have to start him, period. Just no way in **** we draft a QB unless we grab one in the later rounds as a backup/competition to push Ridder. Norwood all the way!
Agree with everything, especially on AS and his playcalling. I'm of the opinion that he should let someone within the coaching staff to call the plays. Bringing in someone else from the outside might delay any improvement in the offense Edited January 8 by Norwood all the way! Spongebob
If you would've said we would have 2 more wins than the rams at the heinning of the season I'd take it. Little did we know 😂 the NFL is funny. Good teams tend to be good teams consistently. Besides that there are always surprises. Maybe we can be one next year. We had two more wins than I thought we would have this year. AS has not been perfect but he was given a whole lotta nothing to work with. Let's see what they can do with another draft and 💵💵💵 Tim Mazetti, Chitown2ATL_Falcon and Falcon fan 4 ever

Richardson was like a .500 QB over his career, Levis was better but UK was never much of a threat while he was there. Both had average numbers and not a lot of "big games" vs ranked teams. Both these guys got "getting someone fired" written all over them. Chitown2ATL_Falcon and direwolf
RazorWing
I've enough from Ridder to give him a chance to start next season. I would draft someone like stetson to push him. If I'm TF, I will build around Ridder. Rebuilding the front 7 of my defense should be the first priority. Find a rg free agency. If skronski,Wilson or Murphy falls to 8 draft them. Then find a 2nd wr to complement london. Edited January 8 by RazorWing Chitown2ATL_Falcon

marvinthemartian
Ride with Ridder. Build a better team around him. If he flops next year and the rest of the team is good enough by then that we feel by then we are a QB away, then mortgage the farm and get the best one. But not this year and hopefully not next year either. Chitown2ATL_Falcon

RookieBird
I'm of the mind it really doesn't matter what we think. The Falcons management and Coaching Staff will do what they want to do inspite of the "expertise" of the fan base. Authur Smith's play calling is what it is. He will always be the play caller for the offense until he is gone. If Dean Pees retires depending on who they get will tell you if we go through another year that the Defense will have to learn another system. The fun is going to be reading this forum with each decision made in free agency and the draft. So work out how you would run the team then watch what really happens. I figure the best advise is " God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." and in the process don't have a stroke.😁 Enjoy the off season.😆 Chitown2ATL_Falcon, Freddies 3rd Cuz and SwampyMux12 2
