Improving the D-Line drastically and the Defense as a whole is #1 priority in off-season--however--once we do that 1st we will then need to still get another QB eventually

Do you really believe that the  Falcons FO and current coaching staff is capable of building a defense and an o-line that is so good that it can go deep in the playoffs consistent yr after yr despite only having a mediocre talent at QB?  While other teams have done it in the past and actually gone to SB--I just dont see this organization building the whole team to be a powerhouse in all other areas besides QB to support being a dominant team with a mediocre QB. While having a great QB with a suck defense and a suck pass protection oline is not the answer either --I just dont think we are going to build a team that is so good it doesnt need a great QB and can be a playoff contender year or year with sub-par QB--eventually after we improve Defense we still are going to need someone that has better skills than Ridder

We got our starting QB...RIDDER!

If Ridder hasn't convinced you today nothing will.

Now this has been a very impressive 2nd half and drives for Ridder

it looks like after the early mistakes he had in this game a light bulb went off / epiphany and now playing extremely confidently. Also had a deep ball with really good zip and placement on last drive

doesn’t even seem like same QB from 1st half or previous games

I believe a full off season with the 1st team he will see things really taking off with him

As topic headings/explanations go, this is an instant aneurysm.

yep-- glad that I was wrong/jumped the gun on the post. Ridder definitely made a quantum leap forward in 2nd half today - it was looking fairly dismal in 1st half but Im glad the lightbulb went off this season finally for him and he seems to have turned a corner this season to build on next season. Arthur Smith all along should have played Ridder this year from the start and just had Mariota as backup in case Ridder got injured. Nevertheless--thankfully he finally pulled Mariota and Ridder had just enough games to finally turn the corner in the last one

We know our defense is bad, therefore we must fix it.  We know we will need at least one O lineman, likely at tackle so fix it.  We don’t know about qb yet so fix what we know needs fixed this off season.  Defense and O line.
