For people who want to get rid of McGary!

To be fair to McGary, our biggest problems on OL are on the interior.

We need a new center and LG more than we need a new RT

We struggle running to that side as well.

Even though I would like to upgrade at RT, that alone won’t fix our line. We need at least two better OLs like you said.

You really think fans outside of the Falcons know who he is outside of seeing his name on the voting list?

I was very surprised when Lindstrom got the nod

To be honest, most people who claim to be Falcon fans have no clue who these guys are.

They're still watching he games looking for #11 and figuring he just isnt in the lineup cause he is hurt.

People keep saying they need to upgrade C,LG and RT.....realistically who are the players you are talking about and how do you know once they get here they will be better.

I remember everyone hyped over Jaman Brown/James Carpenter replacing Schwitzer and Ben Garland and they were no better.

Truthfully I think mcgary gets resigned on a 2-3 year deal for 8-10 million a year.  At center I think dalman gets another year maybe we throw another mid rounder at it. At left guard I think we go out and get someone or pull some trade back magic and draft top guard on the board

No one hyped over those players because they were good, or because there was evidence that they would be good (in fact many pointed out that they sucked), but rather just because they were Falcons and wanted to have optimism that we would improve

I can’t recall ANYONE being hyped about those signings.

Matter of fact, most were asking who Da he!! they were.

As far as who to bring in, that will be better answered once the season is over.

I like McGary.  But, I think the team sent the message by not picking up his option.  He's done.

The message might've been: Here's your prove it deal. Now go show us why we should re-sign you in the off-season. He's got like 90+ run grade from PFF, and around 66 in pass block. At the very least, he's an elite road grading RT, and an average pass blocker. Not a lot of tacklers out there that can say that in general.

Carpenter came with a lil bit of hype being the best of a sub par OL. The word on Brown was that he might've been ascending towards being a relevant OG from another paltry OL. Oddly, both players came from both the NY teams.

Was or is? What’s the exact number though? Not giving up sacks is just one part of the job. Mariota actually being an efficient scrambler helped a lot more than it’s given credit. McGary hasn’t improved as much as being made

Was, the point is that he made big strides from year 1 to year 2 which is what you want to see , he has done it again from year 1 to year 2 under Smith.

I watch him every time I rewatch games and pretty much every time he does better than I thought.

If we do not sign him then some team is going to give him a bigger deal then people think.

Also Mariota helped create some of his own pressure because he would start to panic in the pocket ... his pocket awareness was ****.

Ah. Was. That's what I figured
