Interesting. Both Total Offense, AND Total Defense.... are bottom 5 in the NFL. https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/team/_/view/defense

So how can anyone point fingers ?? From game to game take turns, sucking... on Offense the "scapegoat" was Mariota. Blame QB for everything... But who gets benched on Defense, then ? I'd agree with Grady - a Defensive End is our #1 Need in this year's Draft.  🤨  But do ya hear, a few idiots yelling "Draft a QB" after Smith has blinked now and fired the veteran QB ? 🎅

Did you read my sentences before that? Defense has allowed less than 20 points a game over the last month. Offense hasn't scored more than 20 in almost two months. That's been a consistent trend for the last two months. It's not game to game for me.

Nobody is saying the defense or offense is good by the way. We all know certain or all aspects of both suck.

He knew we had a shot at the postseason this year with the weak NFC South.

Offense shi* the bed for the last two months. Meanwhile, even though we have a bunch of toddlers playing defense, they still have kept us in games for the last month and a half. Most points they allowed since beginning of November was 25 points to the Panthers and even that game we had a shot at the end before the offense screwed up and turned it over on our own side of the field and setup an easy field for the Panthers for a field goal.

If you don't count that, the most the defense since November has allowed was 24 points to the Bears. Since the Bears game, the defense has allowed 19, 19, 21, and 17 points. For all the talk of lack of talent on this team, the defense has sure done it's job since November and given us a chance.

The offense has not and I think Grady is frustrated at that.

Only thing I hate about the defense is how quick they give up scores early on then late in the game they decide to finally play defense. If they did that for a full game, some outcomes would be flipped. Offense has to score. Defense can just allow scores

Before TB lost most of their OL just before the season, there was about a 0% chance of playoffs. Even with that we are 5-10 and in last place in the worst division. I wanted Grady traded, not extended. Just doesn't fit the timeline

I admire Grady J for the player and passionate professional he is.  I understand his frustration and I don't blame him one bit for the little blurb that came out.  He knows that his days are numbered and his window is closing.   My guess it that he already regrets letting his feelings get out in the media.

I would not plan on trading him, but if he walks into my office and asks to be traded, I would comply.  And I would look for the best landing spot for him.  Business is business, but the way this man has toiled for the franchise, heck, he deserves the honor of choosing his destiny.

This is the problem with the Falcons different parts of the team find ways to stuff it up for the other. We aren’t a 3 phase team putting it together consistently and when phase doesn’t perform we aren’t good enough to overcome these issues.

We've been like this for years nothings changed.

FA and a good draft won’t change this a philosophical off field change needs to happen. You want a mixture of a MS type disciplined vs what we have now a physical don’t give up type.If we nail the first bit we win these close losses.

Fans can say "wait til next year" because we can be fans for as long as we are alive.

Players, otoh, don't have years to waste. Grady understands that the end of his career is closer than the beginning and his frustration is reasonable. OC for a HC, new regime uses its 1st round picks on receivers and the Offense struggles to reach double digits for the last two months.

Imagine if we didn't

Everyone should have known this was going to be a year of ebbs and flows. Nobody in their right mind should have expected playoffs, we’re the least talented roster in a bad division. But the future looks brighter than it has for what, 5 years now?

Grady is one of if not the key building blocks. His team should return to playoffs next season.

^ 💯

It’s like it takes us most of the game to finally clamp down on the opposing offense. A lot of our games were like basketball this year, don’t even bother tuning in until late in the 4th…
