we drafted for trenches and defense since 2009 and still haven't had  a defense other than 2016 worth a **** since vick played qb.

Be shocked if we don't go QB if Ridder don't step up a hair by seasons end to clarify he's a future franchise qb.

like who the only picks we made was beasley and takk since DQ took over name another defensive trench player we have took in the first round

since 2015 we have drafted 4 defensive players in the 1st rd. 2 of those players were on the DL. 3 out of the 4 players arent even on the team in 2022 and some people wanna draft a qb in 2023 draft 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Well, we haven’t drafted a single round 1 QB in that same timeframe either, so it’s been even more neglected than the DL. 😝

29% of the round 1 picks since 2015 were pass rushers, statistically that’s not too bad. It’s who they took that was the problem.

man’s to be clear, im not advocating for a QB.

Edited to clarify…

Which QB did the Falcons choose in the first round in 2015?? I'm drawing a complete blank

We have held teams to low 20s or less pretty much every week since the Cincinnati loss.

As bad as the talent is they are fighting hard

Problem is the offense. We have sucked at scoring since around that same time.

The Falcons have this weird yin yang thing going where if the offense is going good, the defense is just spewing yards and points. If the defense is putting up a wall, the offense can't get a first down, much less a TD when they need it.

I am sure I will get flamed for this, but what the heck.  IMO we waited too long to start Ridder.  Now he only gets 4 games (3 and counting now) to show if he can be the QB for the future.  This is the problem now that the Falcons will have to consider in the offseason.  As we have seen, when you look around the league, you absolutely must have a QB to win.  You can get by for a small stretch without a franchise QB, but not for the entire season.  I like Ridder and I did at the time think it was the better pick to go with him over Willis.  Mostly because Ridder will eventually develop more as a passer, whereas Willis will always want to flee the pocket first instead of hanging in there and going through his reads.  Having said that, I did think that the QB draft class this past April was weak.  And I will say that if Levis, for example is there at #7 or wherever we end up drafting next April, the Falcons could have no choice but to go with a QB who might have a higher upside and a higher ceiling than Ridder.

Also what happens if Bryce Young starts to slide down the draft board if the Texans are scared off by his lack of size and the Panthers go defense and not QB and Young is there at #7.  It would be almost impossible to pass on Young.
