In my humble opinion, we need to build a defense that can hold teams to 17 points or less. Before we worry about the offense. In today's NFL the offense will be there given the way the way they handicap the defenses. We should concentrate the draft and Free Agency and building a stout defense. On the offense side we need a LG, RT, and maybe a C.  Flame away.

There’s only 1 defense in the NFL giving up less than 17 per game. You’re basically saying we need the best defense in the NFL before we worry about the offense. 

We need an offense that can score points and keep our defense off the field. Our defense is heading in the right direction. Our offense isn’t.

We have held teams to low 20s or less pretty much every week since the Cincinnati loss.

As bad as the talent is they are fighting hard

Problem is the offense. We have sucked at scoring since around that same time.

I am hoping that improves with play calling and execution. Team is young. Especially on offense.

There are just so many holes to fix on this team--you could literally pick any area besides FG kicker, Punter and Running Backs and it needs fixing. Next year will be the defining year for this coaching staff and GM--they will have plenty of money to spend in FA and we will another very high draft pick as we will either lose all 3 remaining games or at least 2 of the 3

I want upgrades in the trenches. With a good oline/dline comes better production elsewhere.

They do play hard, but we haven't faced a potent offense since Cincy.

Bad to ok offenses move and hold the ball for long periods at times against us. Neither side is good.

We definitely need to upgrade the defense. Pass rush and NT to start.

But the offense can't score more than 20 points the last few weeks. It's a offense that yes, misses Pitts, but also is one dimensional and when you're one dimensional, you're going to struggle. And right now, we can't pass.

I wish this team would focus on the lines but I have been waiting 20+ years for it. Every year they address a spot or two with a draft selection or a bandaid free agent. The problem is 9 of them start and until you have 9 good ones you are always going to play Falcons football.

After that you still better cross your fingers the Atlanta Falcons don't Falcon it up. Who's turn next week?

no we not taking a qb with the way our defense is would be the dumbest thing you could do ignoring the trenches on defense again since 2017 would be a fireable offense

Sure offense can get you to the playoffs but defense is what keeps you in them.

I agree the offense isn't scoring points right now but this defense has continued to be the Achilles heel of this team. Decade of no pass rush, bad 3rd down efficiency and the constant open holes in the middle of the field. Teams attack the middle of our defense over and over again when they need to gain yardage. It shouldn't be so hard to coach that up but is is

Normally yes but we are losing because of the offense since the Cincy game.

I’ve learned you need both. 

The offense hasn’t scored 20+ in 6 straight games. This offense won’t get you to the playoffs. We need to improve both, ignore neither.

I'm not disagreeing that the offense has caused us games as of late. I lean towards teams keying in on how Art has called our games lately which has taken away much of the passing game where as it looks like any offense can pick a part the middle of the field even when pressured. Our backers have not played well in space too often this year

14 games so far. This is the 4th time we spotted our opponent 3 scores before the offense made a football move. 
 

The offense is not good. 
The defense is USFL backup at best.

Ridley really did screw this team over.  Ridley, Pitts and London would have been some good weapons.  Though we would have still had Mariota at Qb, so it still a wash.

If they can get a good DT, DE and LB. Then we could see a great improvment on defense.

If they can get another fast WR that can get open often plus catch then we could see some fun times on offense as well.

Love it if they could pick up at least 3 of the above in the draft.

we drafted for trenches and defense since 2009 and still haven't had  a defense other than 2016 worth a **** since vick played qb.

Be shocked if we don't go QB if Ridder don't step up a hair by seasons end to clarify he's a future franchise qb.

Fast receivers doesn't always equate to being open, most times it's the route selection being called from the side line by their Coordinators 🤔
