Ridder getting us there from 5-8 might produce another one of those bothersome "narratives" AS has to squash at pressers. THAT IS EXACTLY MY THOUGHT!! Everything from the signing, to playing him all season long, is all on AS. So you make your bed you lie in it, right? Right! No doubt, Marcus "Mediocre" cost us several games, and like you say, it's ALL on AS for playing him for those 13 games, without seeing what Ridder could do at some point. And, btw, it's not so much the play calls, imo, but it was the fact "Mediocre" just couldn't get the ball to his man, at times! We 'bout to find out some things in about a week or so!!! CAN'T WAIT!!! Doctor Kildare
Arthur has it made in this situation. If Ridder wins big, Smith is a genius for waiting until he was ready, even timing the debut for the bye week. If Dez struggles, people will see merit in Mariota starting the season. Smith is not going to get much heat at all for delaying Ridder's debut. Winning cures all dissension. Skin doc
Bunchy Carter
This feels like a good opportunity to say there's a STARK difference between an article and a column. This is a column, which is basically an opinion piece. An article is fact based and neutral in opinion. That being said, I loved this column. That it has earned a measure of greatness can be seen in the comments. Many of which are obviously from Aint fans. Calvin 2d ago Actually Saints would be the class of that division if they had a decent coach ASHLEY LYNN 23h ago The Dirty Birds paid Marc a lot of money. Anyways, Ridder hasn't even played a down. Pump the brakes. There's a far greater chance that the guy is a bust rather than a decent QB Abe 1d ago The Saints still have a top 5 defense so they will take over NFC South next season. Bucs without Brady will finish last next season LILY W 21h ago when the falcones lost that big lead, and the owner dancing around with joy, its been downhill since. Nico 2d ago 28-3 WHO DAT GulfRasta 22h ago I'm a Saints fan. Rumor has it the Saints are going to rehire Sean Payton for 2023. I’ll be honest, I had no idea about any of that you just mentioned. Thanks for the info, I don’t like sounding like a dummy or uninformed! @Doctor Kildare that Saints fan is TRIPPING if they really think Sean Payton is coming back to that dumpster fire of a team. I’ve always said he’s waiting in the wings for Mike McCarthy to get fired so he can be the coach the of the Cowboys. He knows Jerry would turn the team over to him and back the dump trucks up full of money for him to tailor the team to his liking. After 2016, we just got a little worse every year, while Dimitroff prioritized keeping the core together, until the core was just Ryan's stiff body and Julio playing less and less. It's good to be able to build a new identity after years of being trapped in the shadow of the Super Bowl loss. Doctor Kildare
