Who should the Falcons draft/sign in free agency to fix their defense this off-season?

Recommended Posts

The Falcons will probably draft at around the 10-15 spot this draft. We have plenty of cap space. Plenty of draft picks. If ever there was a year to get Grady Jarrett and AJ Terrell some help this is it.

Who are some guys that you think the Falcons could draft at 10-15 or sign in free agency that you think could help could make our defense a good defense?

I'm pretty sure that the Falcons convinced Grady Jarrett that help was on the way soon because they were able to get him to sign an extension.

The problem is the Falcons have major needs in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

And so do most teams in the league. That means good players there are going to be very expensive in FA.

They could blow through all the cap space with 6 players if they’re not careful.

Between franchise tags and players being resigned there’s no telling who will actually be available in FA and the draft is always a crap shoot.

I kinda think that Terry will look for a lot of underrated under the radar type players. Especially since the big name players probably won't want to come here.

Aints, Bucs and Panthers have some cuts to get done with how rough their cap is currently although Panthers are a bit better off while the Aint's are flat out in a brutal spot. There are some decent defensive players in the division especially along the D-line so I'd sign a few which takes away players from them that then get deployed back at them

One that would make me laugh is if they cut Cam Jordan and he comes here just to get back at the Aint's like Joe Horn did back in the day. Wouldn't that be a thing to put him on the same line with Grady...

I would like to spend BIG money on if possible Yannick Ngakoue, Da’Ron Payne and Roquan Smith! Just one of these players will make a difference!!

Others I like but wouldn’t spend big on are Clelin Ferrell, Arden Key, Justin Houston(only for obvious passing downs)Chase Winovich, Nathan Shepard, Johnathan Abram, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Kyle Fuller, and Amani Oruwariye!

I think it is more because that's what he does. As far as players not coming here, there is some truth to that, but money talks. In other words, they could get a lot of mid-tier guys, and one big splash guy for the right price.

I agree even with more money to spend, TF seems to be very frugal and is looking for value over splash with his FA signings. I'm not as inclined to agree with you that no big-name players would consider coming to play for the Falcons. Players choose new teams for many reasons.

Smith is a respected offensive guru. Pees is considered a defensive guru. Ridder may really have this offense looking robust again by the end of the season. And, TF will have the money to spend if he chooses to do so. Can't rule out at least one notable acquisition.

Daron Payne DT 6'3 320

Marcus Davenport DE 6'6 265

Isaiah Wynn OT 6'2 311

Garrett Bradbury C 6'3 300

From here I'm looking at resigning our own guys and extending players.

From there I'm going to be looking at adding another Linebacker, Saftey and WR help.

This makes the draft wide open again to take the best player.

Arthur Smith said he'd love to have him.

M Davenport even though he’s got Saints juice on him.  It’ll scrub off.

Jordan Poyer but he won’t be cheap. We need a safety because we haven’t had a good one in years.

Poona Ford = Baller DT

Isiah Wynn?  From Patriots

it’s a little early to know who will be available for real

Davenport has not been good this season. Saints fans been complaining about how his play has disappeared this season.

He also only has 0.5 sack.
