A Dog Named Brian
Boy and girls of TATF I am BEYOND ECSTATIC that Ridder has earned the starting role. Watching a combination of his college games and preseason has me chomping at the bit to see him in the regular season. I haven’t felt this good about a QB since Matt Ryan and I think Ridder landed in a perfect situation to develop into the next Elite NFL QB. I’m trying my best to temper expectations/excitement but he makes it really difficult, I know he’ll have some boneheaded moments (that’s the nature of it) but I again think he can be the next greatest QB. If he comes in his first NFL game and beats New Orleans IN New Orleans….. we just put this fan base and this league on notice. RISE THE **** UP! PokerSteve
I understand your excitement. I haven't been this fired up for a football game since 2016. Just trying to keep my hopes at a reasonable level for Ridder's first game in a totally crazy environment. slick0ne, Drunken Minotaur Zebra, A Dog Named Brian and 7 others 7

falconsd56
He is a rookie that lasted until the 3rd round in a very weak QB class . Also....his Madden rendering and rating are terrible!!! Mister pudding
Tom Brady averaged 190 yds/game his first full season. Expect us to keep running mostly and pass about as much as with Mariota, with hopefully better accuracy. He'll be given more growth in the passing game with experience, timing, and trust celtiksage, papachaz, PokerSteve and 4 others

I’m not expecting him to do it all, especially this early on, he won’t need to when Arthur completes his vision for this team. Do you see the saints going quarterback early in the first round ?? .. and if they do which one do you see them going after.... Cuz I don't think there's no way that they're going with Jameson next year PokerSteve

I don’t wanna wait another week either and find the right receiver in that moment. No chance Mariota would have put it there. My expectation is he’s a rookie and may have some rocks in the game but at this point we don’t need him to be perfect this season. We need him to be confident next season. It’s hard for me to believe he won’t play at least as well as Marcus at Saints. Probably better as the game goes on. This is also the beauty of Smith’s team building philosophy, it doesn’t require Elite QB play thanks to a dominant running game and defense to back it up. He won’t need to do it all and I think that gonna allow him to shine even brighter. FalconJim and Killing Floor

falconidae
Really hopeful that the Falcons got it right with this one. The things Ridd did well in preseason translate to doing well in the regular season. This offense is incredibly QB friendly and also hard to stop if you have a QB that can make the basic throws. Offense slowed down over the last few weeks because Mariota's limitations meant the defense didn't have to respect the intermediate or deep pass [or short passes for that matter]. If they have to respect Ridders arm, the playaction and the ability to run or throw from every formation will make a fun offense to watch. Artys Arryn
**** nah bro, I'm with you on the hype train. Pasting my post from the predict the rest of our record thread below. Until I see otherwise, I'm just going to assume Ridder is the Chosen One and leads us undefeated for the rest of the season, averaging 350+ total offensive ypg and in an unprecedented turn of events wins OROTY despite playing only four regular season games. Let's ******* go! 😤 A Dog Named Brian, PokerSteve and falconidae
