Bracing for it... Won't be the least bit surprised to see it happen. The fact that we haven't gotten definitive word that Ridder is starting in a couple weeks makes me think Ridder will probably not be starting in a couple of weeks. AS probably will go with Mariota for a road game vs the Saints under some false pretense that he doesn't want Ridder starting his first game on the road in a hostile environment. Said it weeks ago, but Ridder should have started the Bears game after the Thursday night debacle vs the Panthers with the butt pass and at least 5 passes that should have been picked. Would have been a home game vs a bad defense. Now you're either starting him on the road vs 2 solid defenses in the Saints or Ravens, or waiting til the next home game vs the Cardinals.

I know it’s beating a dead horse, but Ridder needs the in-game experience. A four game sample is just enough. I’d hate to back into the playoffs and get blown out and have a terrible draft pick, but it would be the most Falcons thing to do 🙃.

 

That being said, I am glad Marcus is getting the support because if the team says something else publicly that says all kinds of bad things about our locker room. You never root for the demise of your teammate.

Marcus is D-O-N-E. AS has to get Ridder in these last four games so they know if they have their franchise QB on the roster of if that has to be the priority this off-season. It's a no-brainer for that if not for the other dozen reasons Marcus' time is over.

I'm shocked that none of us has considered that perhaps they already have the answer to that question.

Players don't usually throw each other under the bus, so I wouldn't expect them to do anything but toe the company line that Marcus is the starter.. until he isn't anymore.   I'm sure there are a lot of guys who love Marcus as a man (because by all accounts, he is a good man) and respect him as a player, but that doesn't mean they won't get behind Ridder the second he become starter.
