By all reports, Ridder was competitive in training camp and preseason. There's a difference between not getting the starting gig and not being competitive. Mariota did claim the starting job. 2. Being eliminated from playoff contention by week 16/17 is plausible depending on how the Buccaneers play, A lot of people have speculated this season that Ridder will get his chance to play after the bye, thus the 3 games prediction is yet to be seen, but is plausible at this point in the season. At the very least it's captured how a lot of people feel during week 13 of the 2022 NFL season before the season even started. 3. The Falcons HAVE played themselves out of contention for a "top tier" Quarterback in the 2023 draft. Projecting 5-6 wins with this roster all the way back in May when most other publications had us sitting around 2-3 wins was so far an accurate prediction. This article has nearly predicted how our season has played out. If Ridder starts after the Bye and if the Falcons drop 2 in the next three weeks with the Bucs winning 2, then it would have just about predicted our season to a T.
