Love the Way Pees Advocates for His Squad--Tuesday Coordinators PC

I am one of the ones who is annoyed by our inability to get off the field on 3rd and 5+. That said, at the highest level, I think he is right. This unit, injuries and all, is trending in a good direction. Would I be in favor of more talent?  Yep! However, I do think he's doing a great job with what he has in uniform. It is a clear cut above what we had going on last season.

All of us want this defense to be better than scraping the bottom. We must take into consideration what Pees is working with though.

Our last 5 drafts we’ve used our top picks on offense 4 times and defense 1 time.

Pees is using duct tape, super glue, being forced to play a bunch of mid to late round rookies and second year players, he’s used band aids to cobble together a bunch of bargain basement veterans, and been forced to play practice squad played due to our top 3 CBs being on injured reserve, hampered or out with injuries.

So as much as the defense sucks, we due have some green chutes starting to sprout with a young nucleus of talent that is growing up in this scheme together and playing their hearts out for us. They are scrappy and never give up, they got dog in them.

This is how the best defenses in NFL history were built. From a scorched field of nothingness to drafting young, talented players who grow up together. Then, you add top level free agents to the mix once you have the young foundation gelling.

Right now, we are #5 in NFL in interceptions. These young guys are ball hawks, a very, very good sign for the future. We obviously need a #2 CB to go alongside Terrell. We signed a veteran NT that would have greatly helped us this year but he retired. We will have that next year. Our young pass rushers are showing promise and still growing.  Ebiketie looks like he could be the real deal next year.  It we need to sign a top level FA pass rusher. I’m convinced we will.

So for right now things suck, but there are plenty of reasons to feel we are building something here from the ground up that can endure for several years.

I like where we're looking for future seasons but bro is on something if he thinks this defense has any hope this season.

I still think we make the playoffs. We won’t go far, but I’d consider that a win with this roster. We only have to win a weak NFCS.

So, I guess I must be on something too.

Couldn't have been said better. I told a coworker the rest of the league is in trouble. We are competing with teams with stacked rosters and honestly we should be 6-3/7-2 if we make a play or 2. This draft and FA is gonna be the start of a perennial playoff team

I agree, we are much closer than many realize. We may already have our future starting QB on the roster, if that’s the case, with all the cash we have, with the young nucleus of talent peaking, we could enter into a phase of dominance over the next several years.

Not gonna lie Gazoo. My dream off-season would be to sign DT Payne, DE/OLBYannick Nguaoke, S Juan Thornhill, and G Nate Davis. We will have the cap to make it work. Then in the draft find a way to get Bijan Robinson on this roster. I I know Allegier and Huntley have some promise, but this is the back that Art needs to complete the offense, or give it a true X factor, like Patterson

Pees is so full of crap. The negatives are huge negatives. If your defense is constantly giving up crucial third downs, your trash.  The worst part is when the offense goes 1st and 20, the offense immediately gets 12 yards back. Every time!!! These offenses have 1 wr and 1 rb and we make them look like the greatest show on turf.  The pass rush sucks because our pass rushers are being asked to sit on the edge to make sure no one goes outside.  We have no one trying to get to the QB. It's all prevent pass rush

Another nuanced and positive take that is absolutely not welcome here, gaz.
