Our DLine is poorly coached. Fire Gary Emanuel

One of our biggest problems on the DL seems to be poor coaching...we just run into Olinemen and let them contact before trying to disengage...I see other DL's in the league actually AVOID contact with the OL and actually get sacks as a result.

Gary Emanuel (I know, right...WHO???) is our DL coach. I don't see any coached-up progression from our DLinemen...every single one of them just runs into the Olineman in front of them. This guy needs to go...

Honestly I can’t say if it’s a talent issue or coaching like you stated. Last season I would have said the same thing about our O-line coach Dewayne Ledford but fast forward to this season and it turns out we just needed a serviceable Left Gard and better running backs to be able to run the ball better than we have in years.

Even though the pass blocking still isn’t great you can see the difference once improvements were made and they’d had a season to gel. I want to see how the D-line looks after we have some top tier talent on it then I think we’ll be able to tell if it’s coaching or not.

Boom.  In all honesty, I think our dline plays above its draft position.  We arent the best, but they play hard.

It is frustrating watching opposing QBs sit back and survey the field. They are waiting for their WRs to make their breaks to get open in the zone at 3rd and 19.

And often times they’ve look good against way more talented units. That actually bodes well from a coaching standpoint.

Yeah I can't really put in on the dline coach because it seems to me he's getting the most out of the talent he has.

We started the season with Goldman and Vince Taylor in the rotation but now we have Horne, Anderson, Dicson, Dalton who are fringe players on any other team. The two dudes that were cut - Rush and Davision cant even catch on with another team.

This is true.  We lost arguably our two main NT/DT depth players (at least we were counting on) early in the process.  I think Horne has played pretty well.  Dalton has flashed.

Rome wasn't built in a day.  I am just going to trust the process.  Next year is when I think I will more harshly grade the team, the coaches and the front office.  They got the mulligan since we had bare cupboards and were broke.  So far, in my limited football understanding, I think a good job overall has been done.

Yet he gets a continual pass in media and in TAFT.

We just play way too soft and Pees cant blame communication failure every time. Sure the Saints game, we saw the break down. But now its just 15 yard cushion all the time and give up insane 2nd and long or 3rd and long completions with no one within a yard in coverage.

I fully understand and respect that Goldman and Taylor were losses. Terrel and Hayward are big losses. Alford got hurt at one point as did Mike Ford. We are a mash unit on defense for sure.

So my question is this. Is Pees this years Sark?  In 2018 we had a functional offense, but we played 6 different OG, and 2 RTs due to injury. Clearly the Oline depth was bad and caused us to struggle. But when you look at the numbers we weren't as bad as you would think it should have been. We fired Sark. Yes, in season, I was pro fire Sark. Once the season was over and looked at is as a whole, I wanted to keep him.  If the season ended today, I would want Pees gone. But have injuries and lack of talent (cap issues) the real issue here? I dont know.
