Time to handle our business! Strength of schedules.

Alright gents, we're at the mid-point of the season and we sit alone in 1st place within the NFC SOUTH - BOOM!

Here is a look at the remaining strength of schedules:

Atlanta Falcons (31st toughest remaining schedule in the NFL)

  • Toughest matchups: Ravens, Chargers
  • Winnable games: Bucs, Panthers, Commanders, Steelers, Cardinals, Saints, Bears
  • ***Predicted wins***

Carolina (30th toughest remaining schedule in the NFL)

  • Toughest matchups: Falcons, Ravens, Seahawks, Bengals, Bucs

Tampa Bay (29th toughest remaining schedule in the NFL)

  • Toughest matchups: Falcons, Rams, Seahawks, Bengals, 49ers

New Orleans (23rd toughest remaining schedule in the NFL)

  • Toughest matchups: Falcons, Rams, Ravens, Eagles, 49ers, Bucs

Things to note:

Cordarrelle Patterson is eligible to be activated from IR ahead of our upcoming game with the Chargers this Sunday, this doesn't mean he will, but that would be a HUGE jolt to the offense if he can suit up against a solid Chargers team. Dee Alford is back, he played some yesterday which should help our depleted secondary as he gets back into the swing of things. If we can get Jaylinn Hawkins & AJ Terrell back this week (which both are possible) that completely changes the caliber of our secondary in time for an important match-up again a good offense.

The only NFL team with an easier remaining strength of schedule is the Ravens, granted there are no "easy wins" in the NFL and you can lose on any given sunday as long as we handle our business we could likely finish with 10+ wins and the division crown!

Yeah you realized how bad Dean Marlowe was yesterday. Makes you miss Hawkins who isn't a world beater but solid. Armstrong is OK. Played the fade routes well but he's JAG at the end of the day.

Agreed, Armstrong has played surprisingly well for essentially being a guy that we signed off the street 2 weeks ago. It’ll be nice to get AJ back to at least lock down one area of the secondary. Hopefully Keenan Allen doesn’t come back this week against us.

Chargers: They're coming off a BYE and Herbert can do major damage.

@ Panthers: They're going to want payback for yesterday.

Bears: They have one of the better defenses in the league.

@ Commanders: The Falcons of the NFC East. A scrappy team that finds ways to win.

Steelers: This is going to be a pseudo away game with the amount of Steelers fans that will be there.

No game's easy in the NFL and I don't think the Falcons will be favored in more than 2 of these games.

He11 he made me miss Harlow and Harris starting.

Disagree about Armstrong, although he is very borderline JAG, maybe a touch better. He's better than Hall. Hall is a liability 75% of the time.

Chargers have a lot of talent, but they are banged up bad right now.  They are also not playing well with the amount of talent they have.  That offense should be explosive and Lombardi is holding that offense back.  Think it will be a good game, hope we have Terrell back.

I agree with you on all points. I also think we will be fired up because we know we got lucky against Carolina. Our secondary is also completely different with AJ & Jaylinn back, who should both be back by next Thursday. We put AJ on DJ Moore he doesn’t have near the field day he did yesterday and takes Carolinas best offensive weapon out of the game.

Also, Bears are the 15th ranked overall D. Playing good defenses is nothing new to us so I’m not concerned.

49ers #1 ranked D, Rams #5, Saints #10, Bengals #11, Bucs #12

The bears game is also in ATL so we don’t have to deal with the Chicago weather, which benefits us. Same with the Pittsburgh game, it’s in the ATL and out of the cold too.

The Falcons barely beat the Panthers and OP has it as a win.

Falcons lost to the Bucs and again has it as a win.

Throw that easiest schedule out the window. There are no gimmie games with this team.

It’s MY prediction. You’re welcome to have your own as well.

Its a completely different game with AJ manned up on DJ Moore, he had a field day against our backups yesterday. That takes their best weapon out of the game.

Let’s not talk about the Bucs game, because if it was called fairly and they didn’t flag Grady for a fair sack we don’t know what we’d of done with our final drive. We will be FIRED UP for that game, I can assure you of that.

I agree there are no easy wins for anyone in the NFL, just look at Carolina whopping the Bucs 21-3 last week and taking us into OT. However, I’d much rather take our chances with the opponents we do have as opposed to replacing them with the Bills, Eagles, Chiefs, etc.

yeah you’re assuming they would have marched down the field and scored on the Bucs. Maybe but I know the Falcons are the only team the Bucs have beat since the middle of September.

You’re very optimistic and that’s cool.

I look at the team and there are thing I like but there’s also a ton that I don’t.

The defense is backsliding. Worst pass D in the league and the run D is starting to falter.

If Grady isn’t playing there is ZERO pass rush.

Who knows what things will be like in week 18. Brady could have retired. Ridder could be starting. Or it could be for the division.

Like I said. I like the direction but this is a mid level team that may overachieve and make the playoffs. But it is still a very flawed team

A home playoff game would be so much fun. Everything we do this year is with house money.

Reminds me of the 2004 Falcons, except without a defense. Good news is the schedule is light and the division is weak so if we can hang around 500 or better we have a fantastic shot at the division and a home game, and then hopefully by that point the defense is healthy and playing better.

Isn't the reason why they have the easiest schedule is because they are all playing each other...

I agree with you. There are things I hate about the Falcons as well. Mainly our defense being historically terrible and our O-line being pretty poor in pass protection. Unfortunately, neither of those things get fixed this year, but next year is a different story. We’re the only team in the NFL playing with $80M in dead cap in the NFL, which all falls off the books in 2023. That is literally 3+ ALL-PRO players and can fix our O-line and more than likely get us a top tier pass rusher. Then we use our 1st pick in 2023 for a top NT to help Grady, the 2nd pick an edge or OLB and our 3rd pick a WR. We are a totally different team and that’s when it gets really exciting. We are doing “a lot with a little” this year and it’s so F’n awesome to see!

I think we best Chargers but lose to Washington. I also think we lose to Bucs for old times’ sake. And the Ravens are just going to murder us. I’m nervous about at Saints. We could finish with 9 wins or wishfully more. The next 50-50 on my list is Bears, closer match than you may think.

9 wins this year and I’m beyond thrilled.

Im going to the Washington game, don't put that evil on us. We own that team.

Yeah, you can't look at Yesterday's game and think that will have any indication on the next time we face CAR. Teams will make adjustments, players will be healthy, and who knows what happens next week between both teams. My theory is every game is a coin flip. Which was FAR better than everyone nationally early in the season thinking we were going 3-14.  Everything moving forward is house money so lets just enjoy the ride.

No kidding. And 9 wins probably makes the falcons the division champs.
