At one point at the end of the first half, Burrow was 21/23 for 360 yards and 3 tds. That's unacceptable no matter who you are playing. Slow start by the offense didn't help those numbers either. I think he had 250 yards and 2 tds by 14:55 in the 2nd quarter.

I agree. Slow start didnt help but at the end of the day both sides didn’t do they jobs. I’m not with the brigade of blaming one player for this loss. Falcons got beat as a team today.

The NFL talent is close in general but when Atlanta is rolling practice squad level guys out there versus that level of offense the difference is going to show. There are times it looked like a top tier college team vs some small trash school in that secondary. We aren't facing that offensive fire power the next few weeks so I expect this team will get back to their identity.

Regardless, none of those secondary guys deserve a check this week.

For real... We got taken out behind the woodshed. We got behind and we are not built for that. Defense had no chance today. We needed the offense to run the ball and condense the game, it was really our only path to victory. We did hang in there but offense was MIA for the entire 2nd half.

I like Mariota a lot but this game really exposes the need for a QB that isn't scared to throw the ball. There are times he played so safe back there (one time I counted 5 seconds) that it led to sacks or nothing type gains. He either needs to let it rip and let his guys have a chance or get Ridder in there who doesn't look scared to pass based on preseason

I say the same thing to all my football guys. Mariota goes into a panic if his first read is covered. He runs himself into sacks, but sometimes he breaks free and makes a nice run. He just doesn't seem to have a great pocket presence.

He is still knocking the rust off and learning the new system again for the 2nd time.  I’m sure after 12 years in the league it’ll all click just you wait and see!
