Beating the Cincinnati Bengals

If I’m the Bengals I’m doing whatever it takes to limit our run game whatever it takes. If Mariota beats them with his arm so be it.But I’m concentrating all my attention around run stopping and keeping Mariota in the pocket by limiting running lanes.

Thats the recipe and that’s our Achilles heal can Mariota best teams with his arm. This is the limiting factor with this team.

Defensively if Grady and co can keep doing what there doing we’ll be competitive.

The best thing IMO about the Falcons this year is STs which have been absolute dog pooh for so many seasons and the Oline the latter has been a pleasant surprise guys like Dalman taking the next step and a vet like Wilkinson solidifying a weakness at LG it’s all good news with those position groups.

Hey hey hey, I'm not from Cincy but I gotta try and at least ATTEMPT to end the slander on skyline chili. It may be one of the most versatile sauces (that's really what it is) out there and tastes good on just about anything you can think of.

Other than that, **** em!

That takes a load off Drake or KP or OZ. Sounds like a plan.

I dont think we have the horses to beat the Bengals. They have elite weapons on offense that we will struggle to matchup with, especially with our secondary banged up.

I think we'll put up a good fight but fall short. They've got a few too many guns for our defense to consistently stop

Note taken. Let’s revisit at 4:30.

Run game will slow them down.

Their oline isn’t good at all

 Score, eat clock. Play defense.

As long as we stay within a score, we got a shot. Keep them from taking those deep shots, especially early. Let the confidence build, and then one lightening shot from the offense at the end to win it. That's my optimistic side talking.

I love the enthusiasm in this thread. Here is my challenge.  If you are excited about this team today, do not pitch a fit if they get beat on Sunday. Don't fire the coach. Don't call for Ridder. Don't call for tanking.

The Bengals started slow, but they have been rounding back in the Superbowl form over the last two weeks. The WRs are getting healthy. Mixon is averaging more than 5 yards a run over the last two games. They had a bit of a Superbowl hangover, but they seem to be waking up.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not predicting a loss. I'm just saying losing is clearly in the range of possible outcomes. If I'm being honest, I think it is the most probably outcome. They are simply a more talented team right now and they are very well coached. If this team fights them as hard as they have been fighting all season, I can live with a non-conference loss. Losing to Carolina and dropping to 0-3 in the division would have severe implications. Losing to a non-conference opponent? Not so much.

I do think their defensive injuries give us a non-fluky chance to turn this into a ball-control game that can be won. At the end of the day, I think the Bengals being 6.5 point favorites is fair. Like every other game this season, one big turnover or explosive play could be the difference.
