It's a no risk thing. He's not promised a 25 man spot. If he fails to make the club his salary drops to $180K. He gets a paycheck while trying to prove himself healthy and the Braves get a potential solid middle RP for nothing.

I haven’t read through but do you know if Anderson’ll be ready to pitch right away or would he be similar to Yates where he’ll need treatment to start the season?

Even with the injuries and free agents, the Braves already have a solid group of potential bullpen arms. I'd like to see them bring in some more LH options, but I don't think they make a big reliever spend this offseason.

RH:
Iglesias
McHugh
Stephens
Yates
Anderson
Bracho
Elledge
Tonkin
Woods
Brooks
Tarnok

LH:
Minter
Lee
Muller
Allard

According to Jesse Chavez’s IG post, it awfully sounds like he’s gonna sign with Atlanta again.

Probably the easiest negotiation for AA. Chavez has horrible numbers everywhere but Atlanta. Multiple guys said he loved Atlanta and just feels at home here. He probably would take just about anything offered.

What if all they do is get a shortstop and kind of shore up the edges of the roster? This is what I'm actually anticipating.

What do you consider "edges"?

You don't think they need to add a serious DH or LF?

I'd love Josh Bell.

Don't see Conforto as an option? Rumors were they were interested last year I believe.

Bullpen depth, a 5th/6th starter type, and a platoon partner for Rosario.

I wouldn't persue Bell. I think you'd get similar production for a fraction of the price from Contreras. Don't see them adding Conforto unless they are able to unload Rosario.

For a bit of context, Harris became one of 34 players since 1969 to manage a WAR 5+. He finished at 5.3, which isn't the remarkable part. He had the fewest games (114) of any of the 34. So, he managed a feat that happens less than once a year, and he cleared the bar easily despite playing the fewest games. He WAS the Rookie of the Year.

Strider was a **** of a lot of fun, though.

Edit: There's also this: "The only Rookies of the Year since 2010 with a higher WAR were Mike Trout, Jose Abreu, Aaron Judge and Pete Alonso."

Ken Rosenthal did some digging into the Acuna trade rumors that flew on social media. He said the Braves are not considering any deal that includes Acuna.

More importantly (since that was obvious nonsense), Rosenthal said Atlanta isn't in on DeGrom and likely won't be. We apparently know that we're gonna have to pay some of the kids who haven't been extended yet.

We've got rich people problems this off-season.
