jidady
Btw, I'm pretty sure Maddux/Hershiser was the game where Maddux hit a guy and then Hershiser threatened to bean Maddux in the most boring way possible. It was something like, "I have a ball, too."

Chip just had a knack for bringing up his dislike of analytics and some ways the game is played now. I can't think of a specific example right now. That if course rubbed off on Joe and led to his rant on a charity t-shirt that of course got him fired from Bally. falconsd56

To be honest I kind of share some of the same feelings as Chip. I can appreciate the analytics but I think that teams are too dependent on those.... And people tend to just use those as a blanket resource. We're seeing it in the NFL as well. NashvilleFalcon01

The thing about Chip was that he blamed anything he didn't like about the game anymore on "analytics". Like for years he railed on how analytics says "it's OK to strikeout now". Which of course isn't true at all. I think there's very good and nuanced conversations about how front offices operate and use (and misuse) information, and those weren't conversations Chip was interested in having. And when he pulled that crap for innings at a time, game after game, it became not only boring and unlistenable but did a real disservice towards educating Braves fans about the game which should be a component of a broadcaster's job. falconsd56

I'm pretty sure we will. AA said it was too early to discuss it now but he made it a point to say he's very aware he only has two controlled SP's out of the current rotation. He also he's told Fried directly and fully believes that he will age very well. labradford and JDFIII 1

Fried's gonna be the first of this bunch whom we have to pay full market value. falconsd56 and labradford 1

Yes, given Fried's age he's going to what a big deal, this is his one shot at it. He's earned it and the Braves know it. labradford

Ozuna comes off when Fried is a free agent. labradford

AA said if they do it now his new salary would count towards the tax this year so it didn't make much business sense to do it now. falconsd56 and K26dp
For the A
For those looking to get mlb.tv just an FYI they raised prices by $30 this year. For just the Braves it’s $130 and all games it’s $150. But there is a way to make it cheaper. Saw this on Reddit. You get a $25 MLBPAA membership and you’ll be able to get mlb.tv 50% off and discounts on other stuff https://www.mlb.com/mlbpaa/membership/fans

Teams are going to be looking to makeup that lost revenue.

If you're into that sort of thing. jidady

If you're into that sort of thing. Maybe this could be one of the reasons for the price increase. I know last year they offered the MILB subscription for $25 when you signed up for mlb.tv. Looks like they have decided to combine the two and see how viewership is affected for MILB
