Because he's not horrible anymore he is actually a positive player at 3B on the defensive side now. Even the eye test is saying that as well.  I'll be the 1st to say that Riley looked rough the year before but he was a different player on defense last year while watching him.

All I know is dude is a solid 3rd at worse. I have no problem at all with him playing with whoever we stick at SS.

Ken Rosenthal talked to some executives around the league about the slow trade market. He said the expansion of the playoffs has hurt some of that. They told him there aren't many teams looking to deal proven vets for prospects right now. The expectation is the market will open up some as FA dries up but right now there's just not enough sellers.

Rosenthal did point out that the O's could move Jorge Mateo in the right deal. Potential one to watch for the Braves. Not a lot of offense but is great with the glove and can be a significant SB threat under the new rules.

His birth certificate says he's 15, but he's probably really 19.

MLB cracked down on that years ago. They've stepped in vetting and investigations into these guys. Started after the Nats signed a guy they thought was 16 for like $1M. Turned out he was 20 and it wasn't even his real name. After that MLB stepped up the ID game. Some players have been suspended for ID fraud as well after MLB found out.

Anthopolous opened up about Dansby. He said they talked multiple times and Dansby called the day before saying yes to Chicago to give AA a chance to make the final offer. AA said Dansby was willing to take less than the $177M but the gap was still too big for his liking. He wouldn't confirm the $100M offer but said they were far south of the Cubs offer and with the long term payroll to keep in mind they couldn't close the gap enough to make a difference. AA said it will be up to Snitker who the next SS is between Arcia and Grissom. He said just because they have it in Spring doesn't mean they'll keep it. He also touched on Ozuna, he said he expects him to be on the team in ST. He declined to say whether he would be on the roster on Opening Day, he said "ask me in Spring Training"

AA did his move in trades this year. Still could spend some but there's not much left on the market with Conforto gone now. Trey Mancini is out there but he was pretty awful in Houston.

If there's another significant move, it will be a trade.
