Spts1
That was a ignorant trade. You give up that many picks for a older catcher in a league where teams don't run that much anyway to offset what Murphy can bring on defense. Proof of the ignorance is the long written excuses for why the Braves came out on top in that trade.

This is just AA trying to get ahead of the game with the new rules. Boise Falcon Fan

Purists can't stand the game anymore and the casual fan looks at it as boring because MLB and the "tradition of the game" crushes anybody who has a personality out on the field. For the A
Does anyone know what Player Benefits is, I’m guessing health insurance and stuff. Also why is it included in the CBT. That’s $16-17 million that can’t be used by each team.

I would imagine that's the estimated number the team will be contributing this year.

jidady
What we've learned over the last month is that when you have a child, you should teach them to play shortstop. Jimsmusic™, K26dp, ATLBrave and 2 others 2

He would probably be content to sit on the bench and collect his $16 million while watching Correa play SS.
Unknøwn
Crawford also just isn't that good anymore. He can play defense but he OPS'd .650 last year and the Giants clearly knew it was time to move on. Who knows him better than SF. He's definitely not worth the $15.2M they're paying him next year. Unknøwn
Murphy spoke about the trade for the first time. He said he's currently living in Nashville and was very excited to find out he'll be so close to home. He said he's actually been doing his offseason workout with some guy named Kyle Wright in Nashville. Murphy said Olson did reach out right away and welcome home to the team. Olson had nothing but great things to say about being a Brave. He also said he got an immediate call from d'Arnaud, Travis welcomed him to the team. Murphy pointed out that the Braves ask a lot of their catchers and expect them to manage the pitching staff, he said that's his favorite part of the game and he's looking forward to it. Murphy did mention that just drom watching afar he knows the Braves pitching staff is really good and he doesnt see any weak points. He added that he's always wanted to win and the Braves do a lot of that so he's ready to get things going. At this point I wouldn't be surprised either.
