MLB Playoff Odds | FanGraphs Baseball

Interesting read. Fangraphs doesn't have us favored to win the division, but does say we have the second best odds of winning the WS behind only the Dodgers. I'd probably put us behind the Dodgers and Yankees, but yeah.

We play in what's suddenly become a semi-tough division. If the season ended today, three teams are in playoff position right now and the Marlins are just a few games under .500. The NL East might be the best division in the NL. It's better than every AL division except the AL East for sure.

Dude is a beast. Plus his stuff is made for playoff baseball.

He's gonna make it a tough decision when Soroka comes back. Strider as a reliever piggy backing off Morton or Anderson could be deadly though.

Almost say go 6 man rotation. Keep everyone fresh.

Soroka is almost an afterthought these days, and he might have the highest ceiling. Although tough to say that anymore since Max added that change-up with consistency this year.

I'm not gonna count on him this year, but if he gets back to form, our pitching staff could be so good. Regardless, I like where we are sitting next year with a potential Fried, Soroka, Wright, Strider, and Anderson. Imagine if we got deGrom too lmao.

I think DeGrom is a pipe dream, a luxury even if he were available that we just could not afford.

We need that $$ for guys Fried and Dansby as we are not the Mets when it comes to payroll these days.

Both need to be locked down for the next 5 seasons and that is going to cost a pretty penny!

I wonder if the money would be there if we extended them and only gave deGrom a one or two year deal. I think someone posted here that he is from close by and grew up a Braves fan. I wonder if he would take that. With guys like Ozzie and Ronnie having such cheap deals and us having guys like Contreras, Harris, Olson, Riley, Wright, etc. under contract for a few more years, our time to win multiple WS is now. If Liberty Media is going to open up the pocket books and go above what we normally spend, it's now.

But I won't be shocked at all if we don't get deGrom lol

As long as they keep Fried and Swanson, I'm down for it!

After seeing this year, I don't see how we let them walk. Grant it we did just let one of the franchise best players walk, but I doubt we make that mistake again. Right...? Surely not. Nope. Not gonna happen.

Honestly, after Hank and Chipper, I think you could make a case Freddie is number 3 on that list of positional players

Him or Andruw. Think Freeman was more fan and PR friendly, but think Jones was the better player wearing the uniform.

Andruw might have been my favorite player growing up. He was such a defensive wizard and at his best could knock it out of the park on any given swing. Him and Chipper always hold a special place in my heart.
