Manfred said the owners are really intrigued by the pitch clock idea. They like the results coming in from the experiment. Could be something we see eventually.

How long is the pitch clock? 20 seconds? I see the same thing in major tennis tournaments prior to serving a ball and it really does keep the game flow going.

It is 20 seconds. I believe the Atlantic league tried 12 seconds. Failure to beat the clock results in a ball.

With the uncertainty of Soroka , I think that the braves will try and sign another vet starter or 2.

I would not have minded Verlander for 25 if only for 1 year.

AA has a pretty fantastic track record with the 1 year deal thing.

Honestly I hope that the Braves make a push for Scherzer....he may want to stay out west but I think they should atleast make a big run for him.

Cole Hammels is wanting to pitch another year.

I'm a fan of the pitch clock. I thought I would hate it when they introduced it to the minor leagues, but it does keep things moving pretty quickly.

You can see the effect in the majors as well. Think about how quickly guys who have come up within the last few years typically go versus older vets. The internal clock gets to matching the pitch clock and it becomes habit.
