Cardinals are reportedly moving towards a deal with Albert Pujols. Gives STL some DH and bench help and allows Pujols to return home for what could he his final year. You could also have Pujols, Molina and Wainwright all retire together. Molina has already said 2022 will be his final year and Wainwright has also indicated he'll retire with Molina. A huge era in the history of the Cards will close after 2022.

Bryan Reynolds apparently isn't taking batting practice right now so might be on the move.

Man that would be nice for the Braves to make another move for him.

That would allow Acuna to stay in RF when he gets back.

And him being a switch hitter gives the line up even more flexibility.

I'm not sure that the Braves have enough pieces that they want to part with for him though.

Not after the Olson trade. You'd have to move Harris to make that happen.

I tried to come up with a trade for Reynolds. Literally couldn't do it, not without crippling team depth, even if including Harris, Waters, and Strider.

That should be a no brainer though but it would probably take him, Waters and a good bit of pitching depth.

As K2 said it would really hurt the MLB team to do it plus Harris. I honestly wouldn't move Harris. I think he's as close to untouchable as AA will go. He's your future CF and can be in your long term plans beyond what Reynolds would provide. Basically I don't think Reynolds is a big enough need today to mortgage such a future piece.

He is a great player but you are right.

Winning the series last year and with a team that's returning this year takes the pressure off to make that kind of move.

Had the braves fallen short (again) the. I think the mindset is different..

But the Braves lost one of their top 2 players and arguably are a better team..on paper at least.

No reason to go muck that up unless there was a way include Ozuna .
