World Series: Astros vs Braves

How is everyone feeling about the series?

I think that the braves have a great shot but if the come up short I won't be too upset given everything that the Braves went through...to even be in the series is a monumental win for the team.

Seeing a team of former cheaters win it would suck but oddly it is still better than the Dodgers winning it.

I got a buddy that’s a big Astros fan. Probably one of the most stand up guys I know. **** him.

Also I need a sweep so I don't gotta choose between my kids trick or treating and watching Game 5....

The wife will have another reason to call me crazy and an idiot, but I’ll be on the front porch handing out the candy with a TV while she takes the grandkids trick or treating.

We are setting up a table in the drive way to have pre packaged candy for the kids to grab and I will be having the game on the MLB app

I hadn’t thought about halloweeen.  I’d be so distracted I would drop the tv remote in a kid’s bag

I have purposefully not watched any pregame shows.  Nerves are shot as is, I will commence to drinking shortly though...

Sweet Water 420 on deck y'all.

I listened to the Braves daily pregame podcast but that's about it. Had to cherish the morning and make it feel real because it still feels like a dream. It's going to get really real when I turn on Fox and see the Braves.

The only pre-game stuff I listened to today was the "755 Is Real" podcast with David O'Brien and Eric O'Flaherty on my commute from work.  But the major networks, eh I'll flip it on 30 minutes prior.

Oddly calm because honestly there's nothing I can do and I want to enjoy this unlike the LAD series. I'm proud of these guys because this season was full of adversity and they showed up. Y'all know I'm not always the most optimistic but them winning the pennant and responding to every punch with a bigger one has really eased my pessimism towards sports in general.

I do think this goes at least 6 and if we can grab one in HOU then I think we have a fantastic shot.

Would think they would have saved Max for game 3 in Atlanta where we’d have him hitting.

You want your top 2 starting ASAP so they are ready for a possible 2nd start as rested as possible.

Max's bat isn't going to make a big enough difference to where it's worth him having to pitch on 2 or 3 days rest.

Honestly I feel this could be a repeat of 1995 World Series. Houston comes in with explosive offense, much like Cleveland had back then. Our pitching shut them down in ‘95. If our pitchers can keep their bats at bay in this series, get out of trouble, and have great bullpen performance—I think we win it all.

Yeah but we don't have have the depth of pitching that the braves had in 95.

...to be fair few teams do but still.

If Fried shakes off his last start then I am confident in winning 1 of the first 2 in Houston.

It's getting real guys.  I was too young to really understand the gravity of their 90's success...  But to watch this team go from the talented, but kinda bloated rosters of 2010-2014, to the 2015-2017 dreadful rebuild, to this.  The pay off is friggin' awesome so far.  Enjoy this, because you just never know what will happen next season.

Chop On y'all!

GO BRAVOS!

I think this is key. For all of the Dodgers' prowess, they couldn't find a way to win one against us on the road, and they failed to win every home game. Us jumping out to a 2-0 lead with homefield advantage was YUGE.

We are in the Dodgers' shoes as we don't have homefield. So if we can steal one of these first two on the road, that puts pressure on the Astros. Then, if we defend our home turf by taking at least 2 of 3, it may be a wrap because psychologically at least, we would have proven to have already beaten those guys on their turf and at worst need to win just one of the two games remaining.

Tall order against these Astros, but that's how I see it.
