But to hear him tell it the Padres just totally outplayed the Braves and the Braves just got lucky I feel like he tries to do it so much that he becomes anti Braves. I felt that way last year in the playoffs too. It kind of was true what he was saying though, Braves took advantage of Padres mistakes. He didn’t have to say the Padres outplayed the Braves, they clearly didn’t. The Braves didn’t make mistakes like they did and that’s part of the game. AUTiger7222
Another thing about tonight’s Braves win, it’s win number 82 and that assures them a winning record. Pretty remarkable when they went the first 4 months of the season without getting over .500.

But to hear him tell it the Padres just totally outplayed the Braves and the Braves just got lucky I personally think Smoltz is still bitter that his career didn’t end with the Braves. Notice how former players have no problem coming back and doing things with the Braves but when’s the last time Smoltz did it? Remember Smoltz pitched in 2009 but the Braves made no effort to keep him following the 2008 season. Tom Glavine retired with Smoltz decided to go to the Red Sox and then during the season he ended up with the Cardinals. Just seems like he goes overboard and it just seems like there’s something more below the surface. Like you mentioned tonight, he went out of his way to discredit the Braves comebacks tonight. But the PBP (Don Orsilo) does Padres games when he’s not doing stuff for Fox was very complimentary of the Braves. Just another reason I love listening to him and Mark Grant on the Padres games. They’re not total homers. If something favors the Padres but they know it’s wrong they’ll mention it’s a break for the Padres. They give credit to opponents when it’s due. AUTiger7222
If the Braves hadn't blown that game against the Diamondbacks on Thursday they'd be sitting on a 7-game winning streak.

They should have gone to it yesterday. Maybe because his buddies Glav and Maddux wouldn’t have had quite the career they had without favorable corner calls due to their star status? Unknøwn
Braves will go with Jesse Chavez as the opener again today. Smyly will be available in the bullpen if needed to eat innings. Chavez will carry it as far as he can.
Unknøwn
That win last night feels season defining. They badly needed it to keep some distance and the offense just refused to lose. Great job by the bats to win it and the bullpen for keeping it doable. “It was a huge win, especially considering the fact that it felt like we were playing from behind the entire game,” Soler said through a translator. “We kept overcoming the deficits and battling back. The energy was sky-high, honestly like I’ve never seen it before. I mean, we were working our way back to the clubhouse and people were hooting and hollering and screaming. It was a big win.”

tl;dr
Good win last night. Missed it, but we needed it. Let’s get the win today and hope Philly loses. Also… any word on the Rockies game being made up?

This spot is Touki/Smyly. Touki is away from the team dealing with the death of his father. Nobody trust Smyly to start games right now. So it's either Chavez go a couple or 3 and have Smyly do his 1 or 2 turns through or call up a rookie to fly cross country and take the start.
