AUTiger7222
A Cardinals win tomorrow combined with a Padres loss will eliminate the Padres. Boy, be cool for the Braves to end the Padres season.

Being a weekday series with school back in session, gonna be tough. Tuesday is Brian McCann bobblehead night and Thursday is Riley bobblehead so thats a big help. Unknøwn
A Braves win and Mets loss today would end the Mets season. They were eliminated from the WC last night. The Mets literally spent 3 months in first place and now about to be eliminated.

dmite
Our magic number is the same as the Giants, but the loser of that race still makes the playoffs, not as prime of a position obviously. Loser of the NL East will be sitting home for the playoffs most likely.

They will play it if they finish tied or 0.5 game difference in the division. If the division is settled then it will just be canceled. If the Braves clich the division before the final day of the season then they don't have to play it. Braves will only have 161 games played. They only have to play it if there's a 0.5 game difference in the standings.
AUTiger7222
Max Fried has been freaking incredible in the second half of the season in his 13 starts. 86 IP, 59 H, 19 R, 17 ER, 6 HR, 16 BB, 80 SO, 1.78 ERA, 2.84 FIP This is a Greg Maddux type run. Max Fried got off to an absolutely dreadful start in 2021 in his first 3 starts. But since? 24 G, 147 2/3 IP, 112 H, 44 R, 41 ER, 12 HR, 36 BB, 138 SO, 2.50 ERA, 3.17 FIP That's pretty good. He just had that attitude about him that reminded me of guys like Maddux/Scherzer, ect. the great ones. I'm gonna own you and you're gonna like it. I tend to not like giving pitchers big contracts but Max Fried is a guy I'd make a major exception for.

AUTiger7222
I know Max Fried's not gonna win it, they'll probably give it to Max Scherzer, but if Fried isn't top 3 or 4 in Cy Young voting this year they should just cancel the award. Unknøwn
Snitker said theyll wait to decide rotation for Philly. Morton could go Tuesday and then Sunday for game 162 if the Braves would potentially be playing an important game that day. Pitching Morton Tuesday would also line him up for NLDS Game 1 in Milwaukee. Fried would be positioned as Game 2 and he's also positioned for the Rockies if that makeup game is needed since it would be a big game if it's needed. dmite
Unknøwn
Phillies won 3-0. Lead down to 1. That easy schedule of theirs is really hitting at the right time for them now. They are feasting on Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
