Adam Ottavino wears #0 for the Red Sox and has pitched against the Braves this year. Marcus Stroman wears #0 for the Mets and has pitched against the Braves this year.

But yet Chip: "This guy is wearing #8 for the Padres, I have never seen a pitcher wear a single digit number."

Stroman wore 6 for the Jays. Jeff Juden wore 7 for the Indians years ago

If only it were a weekend series. Being a weekday series with school back in session, gonna be tough.

Tuesday is Brian McCann bobblehead night and Thursday is Riley bobblehead so thats a big help. I'm sure it still won't be sellouts but it should draw a decent crowd for a weekday series.

A Braves win and Mets loss today would end the Mets season. They were eliminated from the WC last night. The Mets literally spent 3 months in first place and now about to be eliminated.

Them not able to add any good pieces at the trade deadline hurt them a lot. Their GM shot for the moon and missed while AA scrounged for good fits on the lower end.

Did the FO not get word that McCann retired last year?

So what happens with the Rockies game that got postponed? When will the braves play that?

If the Braves clich the division before the final day of the season then they don't have to play it. Braves will only have 161 games played. They only have to play it if there's a 0.5 game difference in the standings.

Max Fried has been freaking incredible in the second half of the season in his 13 starts.

86 IP, 59 H, 19 R, 17 ER, 6 HR, 16 BB, 80 SO, 1.78 ERA, 2.84 FIP

This is a Greg Maddux type run.

Max Fried got off to an absolutely dreadful start in 2021 in his first 3 starts. But since?

24 G, 147 2/3 IP, 112 H, 44 R, 41 ER, 12 HR, 36 BB, 138 SO, 2.50 ERA, 3.17 FIP

That's pretty good.

I think its time add Fried to the extension conversation. We need to consider locking him in for a few years now.

I was all over the Max Fried bandwagon back in 2017 and was so pissed that the Braves wouldn't give him a chance back then. He just had that attitude about him that reminded me of guys like Maddux/Scherzer, ect. the great ones. I'm gonna own you and you're gonna like it. I tend to not like giving pitchers big contracts but Max Fried is a guy I'd make a major exception for.

Snitker said theyll wait to decide rotation for Philly. Morton could go Tuesday and then Sunday for game 162 if the Braves would potentially be playing an important game that day. Pitching Morton Tuesday would also line him up for NLDS Game 1 in Milwaukee. Fried would be positioned as Game 2 and he's also positioned for the Rockies if that makeup game is needed since it would be a big game if it's needed.
