I understand that some of our guys get paid to hit hr and doubles (rbi guys), but when a team over shifts to the point where there is one player on an entire side of the field, they should be made to pay. It kills me to see players swing for the fences when a slow roller to the edge of the outfield ( in the right spot) would accomplish more at times.

Freddie does that sometimes. He'll just flip his wrists and hit a grounder to LF for a free hit.

Should have been 3 of 5 from Yankees and Giants.....

Just being able to break .500 in these 8 games against the Yankees, Giants and Dodgers I thought was the goal. In order to do that that means they're gonna need to take 2 of 3 from the Dodgers. That's gonna be extremely tough with those pitchers the Braves are facing.

I'm assuming Touki will piggyback him if needed. They said Touki might start in Denver but they're willing to use him in the pen.

That is what I would have done. I know Touki threw less than 10 pitches today but he's not used to pitching on back-to-back days. I don't know why we used him in the 9th today. That would have been the time to try to squeeze an inning out of Tomlin if he's still required to be on roster.

Bowman or one of the beat writers said they decided to just use him in the game instead of having him just throw his side session in the pen
