Unknøwn
Rays lead Philly 4-3 in the 8th. If that holds the Braves will carry a 5 game lead into tomorrow. Mets are also losing and would fall to 7 back. Philly would be an even .500. Phillies play Arizona tomorrow. Mets play another game with SF. So it could go right back 4.5 and 6.5 but it could end up being 5.5 and 7.5 going into the weekend.

Once again Joe Giardi leaves Wheeler in the game too long and it bites him!!

Unknøwn
Mark Bowman explained the back to back off days. He said initially the Yankees were scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. The Yankees would have needed a day game on Wednesday in order to fly to Oakland after the game. The Braves decided to move the games to Monday and Tuesday in order to keep the primetime for ticket sales. So, the Braves anticipated a big draw from the Yankees and opted for the off days instead of potentially losing gate money. dmite, tl;dr and AUTiger7222

Also gave them some extra cushion in case one of the first two games was rained out.
