That's absolutely terrible and just kills a bullpen. But he went 5 enough to go 8-3 which is an asset to the team.

FalconFan13
Can't remember a team we had that 1 to 8 were legit 30 home run power capable guys. Acuna Albies Freeman Riley Swanson Duvall Joc Solar I know theirs no catcher there was just more so listing that we could make a full lineup of 30+ power guys based on either past seasons or easily on pace for it this year. You throw Travis and Fried in there as a swap out and that lineup has no weakness of guys that are easy outs or can't hurt you badly. If he was the only one just going 5 then you are on point but most of this season the braves starters would have several of these in a row. That has hurt the pen. AUTiger7222
Chavez wasn't going to keep throwing up zero's. He had an ERA over 6 for the Rangers last year and it was nearly 5 in 2019.

Every regular was in double digits and 4 were over 25 HR, 3 were over 35 HR and one was over 40. Robert Fick was last among the everyday guys with 11. The pitching staff even combined for 4 HRs. Fick might have stayed with the Braves in 2004 but if you remember in the playoffs in 2003 against the Cubs he threw a forearm shiver at Cubs 1st baseman Eric Karros trying to knock the ball loose and it sealed his fate. Braves fined him and he was done in a Braves uniform.

I see 6 guys in our lineup that could legit reach 32 to 35 homers this year including a healthy Acuna ofcourse who would have been our 40+ guy i imagine with the pace he was on if he reached a full 162 he was on pace for 50 HR this season. The Braves between Fred McGriff and Freddie Freeman went something like 17 straight years or something crazy like that with a different opening day 1st baseman. It was absolutely brutal. Even when LaRoche was here he didn't start at 1B every opening day cause Bobby rarely played him against lefties.
